Os ribossomos são responsáveis pela síntese de proteínas a partir das informações contidas no RNA mensageiro. Eles podem estar livres no citoplasma ou associados ao retículo endoplasmático rugoso. O núcleo é a organela que abriga o material genético da célula. Nele estão as moléculas de DNA que controlam a expressão gênica e coordenam diversas atividades celulares, como crescimento e divisão.
