According to Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity, time is relative; it dilates and contracts. One hour for us could be thousands of years for someone else in a different location. The Quran states, “The angels and Jibril ascend to Him in a day the measure of which is fifty thousand years” (Surah al-Maarij). The Prophet (SAW) also said, “The Day of Judgment will be made easy for the believers; it will be like the time between Zuhr and Asr.” Moreover, in several other places, we read about the difference in time, which seems impossible. However, when we encounter such theories, it all makes sense. Islam doesn’t depend on science, but science helps us understand things our minds might question, and when we recognize the truth, it increases our Iman (faith). Haven't you wondered why would Lord swear by a fruit? This was to explain the moral downfall which humans time to time again go through, because it's in their design. But it can't be rectified until and unless this chemistry is explained through mimbar of Islam or laboratory; by a scholar of the Quran. Right now, both the sources of knowledge (Quran and science) have divorced themselves. Unless the phenomenon (happening within us/ in universe) aren't explained through Quran, we will remain in the depth of such ignorance, presenting the Islam as secularized. For centuries, a false narrative has crept in: that the Quran is too complex for lay-people, that we must simply listen to the scholars and not ask questions. This is completely un-Islamic as Quranic command for reflection /tadabbur is for all humans not just scholars. Did Ali ibn Abi Talib (RA) or other Sahabas i.e Abdullah ibn Abbad (RA) receive revelation? Absolutely NO. Yet they became the finest scholars/researchers of the Quran. They have set the precedent for every Muslim household to become a center of Qur’anic research... The examples of big names have set the precedent for us. Deep understanding of the Quran is achievable through effort, questioning, and immersion. It is not a prophetic monopoly. Unlike the Bible or Talmud, Quran is available and to be read and reseach by every 'class' of Muslims, in any era. Why? Bcoz it invites to the prosperity of whole humanity rather than any group.
