🌸Spring Cleaning 🧺Whitening and Refreshing Sheets and Towels🧺 Spring Cleaning touches every part of the house..including the linen closet. I like to give sheets and towels a refresh each season. Add sheets and towels to the washing machine. Add ½ cup baking soda into the detergent dispenser and ½ cup vinegar to the fabric softener dispenser. Then wash on the hottest setting possible and dry as usual. If you have a top loader, sprinkle baking soda over towels and add vinegar right before the rinse cycle. How do I keep my white sheets + towels looking white and bright? . I get asked this question all the time and my biggest tip is ‘I don’t use chlorine bleach’. . Gasp 😯 I know, I know - bleach is a laundry staple for many - but if you find that your white clothing, towels or sheets are yellowing - stop using chlorine bleach. I haven’t used bleach for years and my sheets are bright white. . I do use a premium laundry detergent, I treat stains with a laundry spray (store bought or DIY) and I will pre-soak or add a scoop of oxygen bleach or hydrogen peroxide to my wash load. My sheets and towels are white white 🙌🏽. . You shouldn’t be struggling with this in 2026! 💥Comment SHEETS and I’ll send you deets to what I use and the recipe!😉 💥Make sure to share with a friend who may not know this is a thing! 👉🏼TIP: Untangling bedsheets after washing them should not be a problem in 2025 but per usual I come bearing solutions! You also should be able to get them dry and keep them untangled after one dry cycle. All you need is this tool! Another thing too is that you should be using my washer and dryer settings so that they are properly washed and dry during the first and only the first cycle! You also shouldn’t be using softener and or scent beads and if you do so it, should be on the 4th or 5th wash! Lastly, if you want your sheets to smell absolutely ahhh-maxing, add rinse to the softener and bleach compartment! Just keep your sheets and pillow cases together by tucking your fitted, flat and one pillowcase inside the matching pillow case. And Voila! no more pillow case hide and seek. Bonus Tip: How to fold those pesky fitted sheets. Start with the sheet elastic side up and the short end facing you. Tuck the two top corners inside the bottom corners to create a horseshoe. Then simply take the flat end of the sheet and fold to the center. Repeat on the other side. Smooth and fold the sheet in thirds. Washing Sheets: My Simple, Non-Toxic Routine White sheets are my go-to. Easy to clean, always look fresh, and I never have to think twice about them. Here’s how I wash them each week (because yes—fresh sheets once a week is so worth it): 1. Hot water wash – kills bacteria and dust mites. Warm doesn’t do the job. 2. Detergent – I use a plant-based, enzyme-rich detergent I buy in bulk. Costs about 15¢ a load. 3. Oxygen bleach powder – color-safe and helps brighten, whiten, and soften. 4. Vinegar rinse – I add a few drops of essential oil to it (my choice, my scent). 5. Dryer – I break up the sheets and pillowcases to avoid the dreaded sheet wad. 6. Dryer balls + essential oils – no fake scents, just a light, clean smell that’s safe for skin.
