Soil + green + brown, then add water. That’s how you get it going. Add food scraps (think veggies, egg shells and banana peels), grass clippings and small pieces of cardboard or brown paper bags (Amazon packaging works!). They’re not big and will fill up fast, but it’s an amazing way to add more richness to your soil! We bought red worms (you know, the ones you fish with) and added them to the beds. This compost becomes their food which, in turn, becomes future compost! Last year I only had 1 per raised bed, but this year I’m going to do 2.
