Yesterday I visited one of the biggest data centers in Europe! 🌍 Microsoft’s Dublin data center powers cloud services and AI services for businesses, governments and organisations across Ireland, the UK and much of Northern Europe. Hyperscale data centers like this one can host tens of thousands, and sometimes even hundreds of thousands of servers! What I found insane wasn’t actually the number of servers, it was the huge amount of infrastructure (power, cooling, etc) that helps to keep this data center running. Thanks to @microsoft for inviting me on the tour! ❤️

Networking is the backbone of cloud computing. If you don’t understand how data moves across networks, you’ll struggle to design scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud architectures. Before diving into AWS, Azure, or GCP or any other cloud provider, it’s crucial to master networking fundamentals—IP addressing, subnets, routing, DNS, and security. Many aspiring cloud engineers skip networking, thinking they’ll just learn cloud-specific networking services—but that’s a big mistake! Cloud networking is built on traditional networking principles. The better your foundation, the easier it is to troubleshoot, optimize, and secure cloud environments. If you’re serious about cloud engineering, invest time in learning networking properly. This video gives you all the right resources—including a must-read book, hands-on AWS labs, and an in-depth learning path. Full Roadmap Here ⬇️ If you want to land a remote job and work from anywhere around the world… You should look into cloud as a career path! It’s hard to know where to start and how to learn for free, right? I’m not selling you a course; all the resources I’m giving away are free. Here’s what it takes: 1. Start learning the fundamentals through hands-on projects. A lot of “tech gurus” will tell you to learn buy a course or get certifications first. That’s not the way to go about it. Start learning the fundamentals and build your own project portfolio while you learn. 🚨🚨Comment “AWS Projects” for me to send you a free link. Once you sign up, you’ll get all 20+ hands on projects for free that have beginner guides. 2. Now you can start looking into certifications. Think of certifications like a university degree—they’re just a sign to show employers you’ve put in the work. Although, projects > certifications any day of the week. If you do want to get into certifications I’d suggest starting with the Cloud Practitioner certification. 3. Boost your LinkedIn! LinkedIn is such a powerful tool, and you need to start taking advantage of it. Post all your projects, build a personal brand. I’ve literally seen students in our community posting their projects and getting asked about them by people in their network or even recruiters. 4. Start applying to entry-level roles and leverage the relationships and brand you’ve built up to gain access to jobs that aren’t necessarily on LinkedIn. | 5. Interview prep. The projects you’ve done will have prepared you for a lot of interview questions and scenarios you may be asked about, which is fantastic! The work you’ve put in is going to make this process a lot easier and will allow you to talk about the experience you’ve had. And just like that, you will land your first role in tech/cloud! Follow and comment “AWS PROJECTS” and I’ll send you all the resources I mentioned 🎁 for free. #breakintotech #awscourse #cloudengineer #devops #clouddevops #awscloud #cloudpractitioner #studywithme #study #learn

Most people think AWS, Azure, and GCP are completely different. That’s why cloud feels confusing. ⸻ I thought the same. Different names. Different services. Feels like learning one means starting from zero again. ⸻ But here’s what changed everything for me. They all follow the same pattern. Run your code. Store your data. Connect everything. Scale it. ⸻ The names change. The idea doesn’t. ⸻ Once this clicks, cloud becomes way easier to understand. ⸻ This diagram is the map I wish I had earlier. If you’re learning cloud, focus on the pattern not the names. ⸻ Save this — especially if you’re starting with cloud. #cloudcomputing #aws #azure #gcp #devops [cloud computing, aws vs azure vs gcp, cloud services comparison, devops basics, cloud for beginners, aws services, azure services, gcp services, backend infrastructure, system design basics]
