A quick guide to cloud types and classifications — learn how to read the sky and spot the difference between fair weather and storms. How good are you at identifying clouds?

Cloud Guide! Forget standard meteorological charts! We’re breaking down the sky, piece by piece, to help you stay ahead of the weather. As a pilot, reading these clouds is like reading the road. Check out this visual breakdown from Low to High: 1️⃣ The "No-Go" Blocks (Avoid!): Keep a safe distance from Cumulonimbus (Cb)—they aren't just fluffy, they're the ultimate sky monsters, bringing lightning and severe turbulence! ⚠️ And Nimbostratus (Ns)? That's your cue for a rain-soaked flight cancellation. 2️⃣ The "Climb" Bricks: Classic Cumulus (Cu) are your friends! They often signal active thermals. Altocumulus (Ac)? They might look like small puzzle pieces, but they are great indicators of mid-level instability. 3️⃣ The "High-Altitude" Signs: Cirrus (Ci) and Cirrostratus (Cs) look like smooth plastic sheets, but they can be early warning signs that a front is moving in. Mastering this knowledge keeps your flights safe and strategic. Save this post for your next pre-flight check! Which of these do you least like seeing on launch day? Try this EASY cloud roll effect 👇 I used CapCut, but the edit is very simple and can be done on any software. 1. Record yourself “scrolling” the sky with your finger 2. Get out of the frame, and record a time-lapse of the same angle 3. In your editing program, overlay the time-lapse on top of the first clip 4. Create a mask on the time-lapse clip, feathering it at the horizon line so that only the sky portion is shown 5. Split the time-lapse into 2 clips where you’re just about to wave your finger 6. Create a speed ramp (Speed -> Curve -> Custom) 🎉 Congratulations, you now control the weather ☁️

Where Do I Start with Learning Cloud? (𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 ↓)
Cloud computing, cloud technology, or just “the cloud”—whatever you call it, it’s everywhere. But if you’re like most people, you’re probably wondering, “Where do I even start?”
You’ve seen the job postings asking for cloud skills, you’ve heard everyone talking about it, but it still feels overwhelming, right? 😅
Maybe you’ve dabbled a bit, watched a few videos, but still don’t know how to actually use it to build something real.
Here’s the thing: 90% of companies are on the cloud, so these skills are in demand. The best way to learn? Start with small, practical projects that solve real problems. It’s not just about the theory; it’s about getting hands-on experience that makes you stand out.
If you’re ready to jump in but don’t know where to begin, I’ve got you covered—I’ve put together 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 beginner-friendly guides that will walk you through building your first cloud projects, step by step!

☁️ How do clouds actually form? Robin breaks down the meteorology behind it, from invisible water vapor to visible cloud layers. 🌦️ It’s all about air rising, cooling, and condensing - simple, but the science keeps our flights smooth and our wings out of the cumulus!✈️

In aviation meteorology, clouds aren’t just scenery — they help pilots understand weather conditions and potential hazards during a flight. ☁️✈️ Clouds are mainly classified by altitude into low, medium, and high-level clouds, along with vertical development clouds like cumulonimbus. Understanding cloud types is an important part of pilot training. 📩 Text “PILOT” if you want to learn more about aviation concepts. #aviationweather #meteorology #futurepilot #pilottraining #reelsındia

P1 Aviation: Clouds Clouds, to almost everyone, have some meaning. But to you as a pilot, clouds are your weather "signposts in the sky." They give you an indication of air motion, stability, and moisture. Clouds help you visualize weather conditions and potential weather hazards you might encounter in flight. As a parcel of air rises, it cools. Cooler air can support less water vapour and so, as the air cools, the relative humidity of the air increases. The temperature at which the air humidity reaches 100% is known as the Dew Point. At this point the air is said to be saturated. As the temperature continues to fall, the excess water vapour that the now saturated air contains condenses to form water droplets or ice particles. Clouds therefore form when the relative humidity of a parcel of air reaches 100%. #Aviation #cloud #aviationgeek #aviationknowledge #pilot #clouds #aviationphotography #meterology #pilottraining #aviationlovers #aviationdaily #aviationismylife
