Last week I shared the first set of studies from my vertical studio, Puzzling Assembly: Transformers @sciarc . Yesterday my students presented their “baby cube” models that explored the potentials of their joinery for transformation. These initial studies are meant to test the mechanical properties of the joineries and working towards some ideas about the new configuration, but not fully realized. In their next exercise, they will move up in scale & begin to experiment more directly on the spatial implications of these transformations.

Standard color swatches fall short when designing products.
