Here’s a horror story about what happens when sales operates
220

Here’s a horror story about what happens when sales operates in a silo… We had a client recently who hired a new sales leader and that leader decided to change the definition of a qualified lead. It used to be that someone was considered qualified after speaking to a salesperson, the sales person decided they were qualified and the prospect wanted to move forward with an application. The sales leader wanted his staff to work harder on every lead so he changed the definition to be that anyone that answered their phone was considered qualified therefore the salesperson would be accountable for closing them as long as they answered. Here’s the problem… Google was optimizing for qualified opps, and when you change the definition of a qualified lead to a higher funnel, lower quality stage then Google is going to model off of that lower quality event and get you lower quality leads… The double whammy is we thought we were killing it because we were generating the most opps we had ever had… So we were raising budgets and bids because it looked like demand and opportunity was surging. Really it was flat and the bar for our main goal had been lowered. This went on for several weeks for before the client flagged that lead quality was down and they were closing less deals. To which we said, how is that possible when you have more qualified opps than you’ve ever had? Oh well a qualified opp now just means someone that answered their phone… And that was rhe first time that had been communicated to us. Almost a month late. Bottom line is we should have been proactively informed of the definition change, and had that happened this all could have been mitigated. Our best clients have sales representation in all of our meetings and back when I was a marketing head for a billion dollar tech firm I met with the sales leader every week and that helped us both to keep from making rash decisions that might have adversely affected the others efforts.

Most “cold leads” aren’t actually cold…They’re just overwhelmed, distracted, or unsure of the next step. As a TC, I see this all the time. The deal didn’t die, the timing just changed. And when agents circle back months later with a “Just checking in” email, it almost always gets ignored. Not because the lead isn’t interested… But because the subject line gives them no reason to open it. If you want to turn cold leads into real conversations again, the subject line has to feel human, relevant, and low pressure… not salesy or scripted. Here are 5 email subject lines that consistently reopen doors and spark replies 👇 1️⃣ “Still thinking about making a move… or has life gotten busy?” 2️⃣ “I almost archived your file, but wanted to check in first.” 3️⃣ “Not a sales pitch, just something worth sharing.” 4️⃣ “Quick heads-up about the market (this may help you)” 5️⃣ “Before I stop reaching out, one last question…” These work because they create curiosity, honesty, and permission to respond… without pressure. I watch agents win business simply by changing how they follow up… not by emailing more often, but by emailing smarter. Save this for your next nurture campaign.

You don’t need more leads. You need better cold calls. Yes, they’re tired of being called. Yes, there’s competition. But if your team can cold call properly? Inbound leads become EASY money. Train for the hard thing. Enjoy the easy closes.

Your attempt to sound professional is the exact reason high-level buyers are ignoring you. Most creators think they're being polite, but they're actually signaling a lack of authority that scares away serious clients. This isn't a problem with your niche but a problem with the attitude of the audience you attract. High-altitude buyers are drawn to certainty and expertise. Low-altitude followers are looking for reasons to complain and compare your prices to the rest of the market. You're likely using subtle language signals that invite the wrong people into your world without even realizing it. Sociologists call these powerless language patterns. I've spent over twenty years identifying the ten specific signals that turn away the people you actually want to work with. You might think you're being helpful but you're actually driving away the clients who would value your work the most. I wrote a book on this called Is Your Messaging Attracting the Wrong Audience. Mastering these subtle shifts transforms how the world perceives your value and your expertise. I just released a full-length video that breaks down exactly how to remove these patterns from your communication. Have you ever noticed that the clients who pay the smallest fees are always the ones who demand the most of your time? Follow this YouTube channel to learn how to elevate your messaging and attract the high-level audience you deserve.

Cold calling isn’t dead. It’s just misunderstood. If you want to generate more listings, close more deals, and make money without ads, funnels, or waiting on inbound leads, then you need to master outbound sales. Cold calling is still the fastest way to talk directly to decision-makers, build real confidence, and grow your business from zero. The people who say cold calling doesn’t work just never learned the skill. If you want more listings fast, better sales conversations, and a proven outbound strategy that actually makes money, this is for you. #coldcalling #outboundsales #leadgeneration

48 qualified inbound leads in the first 24 hours of launching new ads yesterday. Most coaches just post and pray that they’ll get clients. But they don’t have a real system, which leads to inconsistent and unpredictable sales. No bueno. After helping my coaching clients sell over $100M+ over the last 4 years, here’s exactly what you need to scale profitably. Top of funnel: ads to bring qualified inbound leads to you daily Middle of funnel: content & sales assets that pre-sell & nurture Bottom of funnel: setter to pack calendar w calls That’s it. A system to get leads, nurture leads, and close leads. Comment PROFIT below and I’ll send over a video breaking down exactly how to install this system into your online coaching business too.

You’re not losing deals because of bad leads. You’re losing deals because you stop following up. Only 2% of sales happen on the first contact. Eighty percent take at least FIVE follow-ups. So if you’re relying on yourself to do that manually… you’re already behind. This is where smart agents are adapting. They’re letting AI handle the grind so they can stay focused on clients and deals. The money’s always been in the follow-up - now it’s just finally scalable.

I routinely find $100K+ hidden inside 3–5 sales calls. Before you add more traffic or build another front-end offer, fix what’s happening on the phone. Most high-ticket offers don’t have a lead problem. They have a sales floor problem. If your offer is hitting ceilings, message me “Audit.”

Speed isn’t about calling fast. It’s about engagement before the call. When a buyer leans in first, you’re not interrupting. You’re continuing. Which call would you rather make? #salesstrategy #leadquality #b2bsales #salesperformance #closers

☎️ Cold calling still works—if you know what you’re doing. But only if you do it right: -Right data -Right dialer setup -Right people, trained right Skip one, and it won’t work. But if you get it right? $40 leads instead of $300. 🔥

Here’s one cold email hack you can use right now. Not next week. Not after you rebuild your entire outbound stack. Not after you rewrite your sequences. Right now. 👉 Stop asking for 30 minutes. And if you absolutely must ask for time… ask for 15 minutes. Because in a buyer’s mind, those two numbers do not mean the same thing. If your first email feels like it’s trying to book a formal meeting, you’re probably asking for too much. If your first email feels like it’s trying to have a quick check, you’re doing it right. Cold email is not about convincing people to give you time. It’s about making it easy for them to say yes to the next small step. Thirty minutes is not a small step. Fifteen minutes is. #coldemail #outboundmarketing #emailmarketing #b2bsales #axelo #leadgeneration #salesprocess #salesstrategy #salespsychology #buyerpsychology #axelomarketing #businesscommunication #luis #copywriting #saleswriting #agencylife #founderlife #entrepreneurlife #onlinemarketing #digitalmarketing #businessgrowth #luisortega #growthtips #businesstips
