Motherhood will surprise you in ways you never expect. I opened the fridge and noticed two bottles of pumped milk that looked completely different. One normal… and one pink. This is something called “Strawberry Breastmilk.” It can happen when a tiny blood vessel in the breast breaks during pumping or breastfeeding, allowing a small amount of blood to mix with the milk. Seeing it for the first time can definitely catch you off guard. In many cases baby can still safely drink the milk, but if it keeps happening or you’re experiencing pain, swelling, or fever it’s always best to check with your provider.
