Coolors isn’t a “palette generator.” It’s a decision-testing tool. I don’t use it to pick colors. I use it to stress-test them. Contrast. Balance. Temperature. How the palette behaves together — not in isolation. If you’re choosing colors one by one, you’re designing blind. Full system explained in the video.

Every other color comes from these three. Secondary Colors Green. Orange. Purple. These are formed by mixing two primary colors. Tertiary Colors Yellow-orange Red-orange Red-purple Blue-purple Blue-green Yellow-green These are formed by mixing a primary + a secondary color. All of this together creates the color wheel. And the color wheel is how you design visually pleasing scenes. Color Harmony Rule #1: Analogous Colors Analogous colors are side by side on the color wheel. Example: Yellow-green, yellow, yellow-orange. One color usually dominates, the others support it. This creates a soft, natural look. Color Harmony Rule #2: Complementary Colors Complementary colors sit opposite each other on the color wheel. Example: like red and green, blue and orange, or yellow and purple These combinations create strong contrast and make designs pop. If you master color harmony, your designs instantly look more professional.

The eyedropper tool is my best friend when I’m stuck on picking colors for a design project. I’ve found that this method makes it so much easier to think outside the box and create unique color palettes.
