These quiet neighborhoods once held some of the most intense, emotional scenes in the series — and now they’re peaceful Georgia streets again. Of course, we were respectful of the residents of this iconic town. It’s incredible to experience a filming location that is also someone’s everyday home. The walls may be gone… but the feeling is still there. Self-guided tour. Full fan energy. Core memory unlocked. THEN ➡️ NOW 🧟‍♀️ Driving past Carol’s cottage during our self-guided Walking Dead tour through Senoia, Georgia. I edited scenes from the show alongside what the house looks like today, and it was such a surreal fangirl moment seeing it in real life after watching it on screen for years. Although it looks like the house may currently be vacant, we were still respectful of the neighborhood and the residents in this iconic filming area. It also made me think… what fun it must be to be a location scout, finding the real-world places that become part of these stories. We went to Senoia expecting to step into Alexandria from The Walking Dead… But most of the original set is gone. What used to be iconic gates and walls is now a quiet residential neighborhood. We did find a small piece of the wall still standing — and of course had to grab a photo. We stopped by The Woodbury Shoppe, tracked down the “chocolate pudding house,” ate lunch at Nic & Norman’s, and even found the railroad tracks that led to Terminus. It’s definitely different than it once was. But it’s still interesting to see how a TV world slowly turns back into a normal Georgia town.
