After many months of design and build, my custom cyberpunk-inspired Cyberdeck computer is finally complete! Nothing on this case was 3D printed, but I’m sure it would have helped a ton. I designed the lid graphics from scratch and you can see the exact process in earlier posts. The internals are a @raspberrypi Pi4B running Raspbian OS, which will most likely change down the line. Since nothing is ever truly finished, I’ll be adding bigger storage and batteries later as well. This was my first time ever assembling a cyberdeck, after years of compiling references and component inspo. I can’t thank the cyberdeck community enough, especially the works of Jay Doscher which really helped so many of us put things like this together. Most of my costumes have lots of functional elements to them, and this cyberdeck build is probably the most functional out of everything I’ve done so far. As I’m compiling the TRULY SPECTACULAR crimebag award videos, here is the video that inspired this whole thing. We were setting up to film an ad for a treat company and I wanted a cool shot of Squidward and I walking through the gate to start our day. I set up my camera and went to go grab Squid to see if the framing would be what I wanted for the shot - that’s why the gate is unlatched, treats are dumped haphazardly on the ground, and there’s literal 💩 still in the shot 😂 in the seriously less than 30 seconds it took for me to go grab a pre-haltered Squid, Cheese saw unguarded snacks and decided to seize his opportunity. Unfortunately, it didn’t go as well for him (OR MY GATE) as he would have wanted. Cheese was literally 1,000% fine - I WILL NOT EVER POST ANY VIDEO WHERE SERIOUS HARM OCCURS! He sauntered off like huh! Crazy world! And left me to clean up the wreckage of my fence panels. Just like people, even the smartest and most well-cared-for and well-supervised of horses will occasionally do something unfathomably stupid. As horse owners, it is our job to save them from their own stupidity and then laugh about it so we don’t cry and/or think about our bank accounts.
