MORE INFORMATION… Computer engineering — you can 100% go into a software role after studying this! Computer engineers share many core classes with CS students. The difference lies in the electrical engineering classes you take that give you a different skill set than computer science majors. CE majors are generally known for having a better grasp of the hardware and working with low level software. C is my favourite language just because I can see everything that is happening — nothing is hidden behind obscure properties and functions. That type of control is really important when you’re working with bitmaps and exact memory manipulation. We have less experience with web dev and leetcode, so we tend to “lose” against computer science students in that regard. My experiences in both CS and CE courses can be summed up by the following: If CS is equivalent to being taught how to swim, CE is closer to getting pushed into the pool and swimming because otherwise you’ll drown. Do with that information what you will 🤷♀️ Follow @jocelyn_journals for more! #computerscience #computerengineering #university #technology

Ai will NOT replace electrical engineers — and here’s why ⚡️ I have 20+ years of electrical engineering experience and 10 years teaching at the university level, I can tell you this with confidence: Electrical engineering is still deeply hands-on. You’re in labs. At the bench. Testing, building, breaking, troubleshooting. Going back and forth between design → test → fix → repeat. Real talk: If a circuit board is burning in the lab… AI can’t smell that yet. You need human intuition. You need trained hands. You need fundamentals, preparation, and experience. Your coursework matters. Your problem-solving skills matter. Your ability to think and troubleshoot in real time matters. So don’t let fear-based AI headlines intimidate you. Keep learning. Keep building. Keep working hard. Engineers who understand the fundamentals and can work hands-on will always be irreplaceable. Make sure you follow for more electrical engineering advice! I’m a 3.9 GPA Mechatronics Engineering student and most people make this degree way harder than it needs to be. Here are the 5 biggest wake-up calls I’ve had: save this and follow for more❤️ 1. It’s not all “Porsches and Mansions”💸 The “rich engineer” trope is a lie. You aren’t getting mansions and Ferraris fresh out of school. You’re getting a high-floor, stable, upper-middle-class life in the suburbs. It’s a great life, but if you’re here for “overnight wealth,” you’re in the wrong building. 2. Your “struggle” is a choice😓 Stop romanticizing how hard your classes are. The more you tell everyone “this is so hard,” the more you’re just pre-gaming your own failure. Complaining is just a cope for mediocrity. Other people mastered this material; you can too. Change your internal dialogue, and watch how much easier things get. 3. If you’re weak, you’re losing💪 You cannot build a high-performance brain on a low-performance body. Too many engineers look like they haven’t seen a gym in years. Don’t be that guy. If you aren’t pushing for a new PR in the gym, you aren’t reaching your peak cognitive performance in your classes. Physical discipline is the foundation of academic discipline. 4. All-nighters are for amateurs😴 Pulling an all-nighter isn’t a “grind”, it’s a failure of systems. It’s the least efficient way to work and it trains your brain to accept procrastination as a lifestyle. If you can’t manage a 24-hour day, you aren’t ready to manage a complex engineering project. Kill the cycle. 5. The “Golden Ticket” Degree👑 Just because you study Engineering doesn’t mean you have to be an Engineer. This is the most employable degree across all disciplines. Companies don’t just hire you for what you know; they hire you for the way you think. You’re taught how to solve complex problems and this is applicable to any field. Engineering is the ultimate foundation for any elite career path.

#computerengineering #computerscience #teknikinformatika #teknologiinformasi #cyber #cybersecurity #jurusan

The name of your major doesn’t matter that much. A lot of people in this field came from other engineering backgrounds like computer engineering, electronics, mechanical, engineering technology, and others. Companies don’t care about the exact words printed on your diploma. They care whether you can actually do electrical engineering work. If you have the right skills and you’re willing to learn quickly, firms will hire you into electrical roles. And yes, if you have an ABET-accredited engineering degree, you can become a licensed PE in electrical engineering, even if your degree isn’t titled “Electrical Engineering.” Engineering Technology grads can too, some states just require more experience. Your degree title doesn’t decide your career. Your skills do. 👉 DM “Revit” to learn the skills engineering firms are hiring for right now #electrical #engineering #student
