Computer Security Day is Every day. It's also important to review your computer's security on a regular basis. Use the checklist here to make sure your computer is secure. #GetCyberSmart2025 and spread the word -check out: CyberTorial.org and GetCyberSmart.org for more information.

Ultra Security 💻🔒🔥#security #autohotkey #windows #techtips I came up with this really funny way to keep people off my computer when I am not around. I set up a script that forces the PC to shut down just ten seconds after logging in unless I quickly create a specific empty folder on the desktop. It is the perfect prank because even if someone guesses my password they will just think my computer is broken when it keeps turning off on them. I mostly use this when I leave my setup for a few days to make sure nobody can snoop around my files.

“If I had to start cybersecurity from zero in 2026, this is exactly what I would do. Step 1 – Learn Networking Basics. Understand IP address, DNS, TCP/IP, ports, HTTP. Step 2 – Learn Linux Basics. Basic commands, file system, permissions. Step 3 – Understand Cybersecurity Fundamentals. Types of attacks, phishing, malware, firewalls. Step 4 – Choose One Beginner Domain. SOC Analyst, GRC, or VAPT. Step 5 – Practice Daily. Use platforms like TryHackMe or Hack The Box. Step 6 – Do One Certification. Security+ or Google Cybersecurity. Step 7 – Apply for internships + build LinkedIn profile. No shortcuts. Just skills + consistency. No degree matters more than your knowledge. ✔ Strong basics ✔ Hands-on practice ✔ One good certification ✔ Internship experience Don’t try to learn everything at once. Pick one path and go deep. Happy National Computer Security Day from MacGyver! Here are 5 Steps to Avoid Cyber Attacks this Holiday shopping season. You may be wondering, “Why is National Computer Security Day observed on November 30th? Read on to find out… “When Computer Security Day was first observed in 1988, computers were just starting to become widely used, even though they weren’t yet pervasive in homes. In addition to increased computer use, particularly in business and government, the 1980s also saw the beginnings of the internet. According to reports, Cornell University researchers discovered an unidentified virus hiding in their computer systems on November 2, 1988. The “Morris worm” virus infected the ARPANET, a precursor to today’s internet, and several other university systems within four hours of its discovery. Six days later, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in the United States recommended creating a “National Computer Infection Action Team” (NCAT) to respond to these kinds of attacks around-the-clock. The Computer Emergency Response Team was established on November 14 by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI), a research institute affiliated with Carnegie Mellon University (CERT). The Washington, D.C. chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery’s (ACM) Special Interest Group on Security, Audit, and Control created National Computer Security Day in 1988 as a way to spread awareness of computer viruses and crimes. In particular, November 30 was chosen as Computer Security Day in order to maintain high awareness of computer security during the busy holiday shopping season, when people are frequently more preoccupied with avoiding security threats. The National Cyber Awareness System was established in 2003 as a result of a collaboration between CERT and the US Department of Homeland Security… National Computer Security Day is a wonderful opportunity for us to remind ourselves to safeguard our computers in order to protect the assets, instruments, and data they contain.” Article Source: Jagran Josh #NationalComputerSecurityDay #MacGyver #tips #computervirus #identitytheft #computersecurity #onlinesafety #savemacgyver #onlinesshopping
