Concave layers: doesn’t follow the head shape. Lots of movement. Saves length and weight at the perimeter. Very pretty 🤩

Concave long layers explained ✂️ Not all long layers are created equal… this is how you remove weight, keep length, and create movement that actually falls right. This technique shapes the hair so it curves into itself instead of sitting flat or bulky. Think softer ends, better flow, and hair that styles easier without losing density. If your layers always feel heavy, shelf-y, or just off… this is probably why. Part 2 is where it all comes to life. Watch Part 2 to see how these layers move, bounce, and actually hit once styled. Take care, brush your hair. ⸻ #longlayers #concavelayers #layeredhair #haircut #haircutting hairstylist haireducation hairtok hairtips modernhair salonlife behindthechair precisioncut movementhair softlayers westchesterhairstylist ⸻ concave long layers long layers haircut explained how to remove weight from hair layers vs shelf layers how to keep length with layers haircut for movement and flow professional haircut technique

Butterfly Layers on a Side Part 🦋 This is the easiest way to avoid choppy layers in a haircut. Elevating in this way creates seamless layers with a concave shape, promoting movement in long heavy hair. It also creates beautiful face framing! #haircut #haircuttutorial #butterflycut #layeredhaircut #longhair #haireducation #nychairstylist

Long Hair Layers ⬇️ Here’s a variation of concave layering on long hair with a fringe (bangs) ⬇️ I isolate 3 areas, the back, the front, the fringe. I start in the back with vertical sectioning lifting up away from the outline and using the outline length as a guide to cut my concave layer (shorter interior, longer exterior) I pivot around the back continuously lifting up towards the ceiling ⬇️ Through the front I use horizontal sectioning lifting up and cutting a flat shape using the back as my guide ⬇️ I take vertical sections within the fringe area pulling everything forward towards the centre and cutting a flat layer. products used: gangsta grip and love perpetua by @evopro @evohair KDF Academy San Diego hands on haircutting classes ⬇️ Oct 14 • Round Concave Layering Nov 18 • Layered Bob All classes 3 hours. For concave layers (on long hair): 1️⃣ First, I do above my knuckles so that necessary tension as I move away from the head (that’s what concave layers are-away from the shape of the head).💇🏻♀️ 2️⃣ Second, as I get closer to the bottom parts of the hair, I cut under my knuckles. Why? Because there is less tension and move away from the perimeter, while connecting the layers and preserving the length.😉😎 3️⃣ I use my @cchscissors 7.0 because I personally love how I can cut more with less strokes. Also, I feel like a ninja!🥷😂

Here's the thing—and the reason I'll die on this hill. Every time I post about blended layers, all the "choppy disconnected" layer lovers have a fit. But it's not just one or the other. You can have layers that look blended AND layers that look "choppy". It's just about how you style it. And the reason I always advocate that they should blend when straight is not because you should want to look at certain way. Glue a pineapple to your head for all I care. (Unless you ask me to get it out without shaving you bald.) But you should know that the only thing necessary for layers to blend, is to cut them straight. That means if they don't—then they weren't. And call me whatever you want, but cutting straight lines is really not a high bar, I think. So don't waste your time and money getting a haircut that doesn't give you versatility, because in reality, it's not asking for much. Ready to discover how you and your hair deserve to be treated? This haircut is perfect for anyone wanting lots of layers dense length - something a lot of you are always asking for ;) . Dense length - meaning no “tail” or “wispy” ends . Here’s exactly how to do it! You can now stop coming for the V cut and saying that ends are too thin because this technique will get you the solid, blunt and healthy results you’re looking for ✨ . #hairvideos #hairtutorials #haireducation #hairgoals #howtobeauty

“LAYERED HAIR IS NOT A CUT FOR EVERYONE ✂️ Layers are not just a trend — they’re a technique. What looks effortless on one person can look messy on another. Layers depend on: • Hair density (thin, medium, thick) • Hair texture (straight, wavy, curly) • Face shape & neck length • Lifestyle (how much styling you actually do) • Growth pattern & weight distribution Too many layers on fine hair? ➝ flat & wispy. Wrong placement on thick hair? ➝ bulky & unmanageable. No styling time? ➝ layers will not save you. Layers should enhance, not fight your natural hair. A good cut is not about copying a photo — it’s about customization. ✨ The best haircut is the one made for you, not for Instagram.” For consultation and booking @ AVEDA HARVEY NICHOLS Mall Of The Emirates Phone: +971 4 818 8444 Look for : MARNELIE #salon #hair #haircut #layers #aveda

Stop saying “layers” and then wondering why it looks flat. Say this instead: • Long, blended layers • Volume at the crown • Blow dry away from the face • No thinning at the ends • Velcro rollers for bounce • Nose to chin face framing Volume is technique. Not luck. Here’s how I created layers with a thick perimeter: ⠀ 1. I planned how long I want the top of the layer to be. ⠀ 2. I left out hair on the bottom depending on how thick I plan the perimeter to be. ⠀ 3. I got the bottom-most hair from the hair I was holding. 4. I connected that hair’s length to the length I wanted the top to be. ⠀ 5. I used that section as a guide for the rest of the hair in the back. ⠀ ⠀ You can adjust the length of the top layer depending on what your client wants. You can adjust the thickness of the perimeter according to what your client wants. Depending this, you can figure out how best to connect the lengths. I just cut straight across. You might have to angle your finger slight or maybe dramatically to connect your lengths. ⠀ Hope this helps, that it inspires you to customize haircuts for your clients, and most of all, enjoy doing it. ❤️❤️❤️

A round layers haircut is a layering technique where the hair is cut in a rounded shape to create soft, blended layers with volume. ✨ Key points about round layers haircut: • The layers follow the round shape of the head, giving a natural and balanced look. • It’s usually done with uniform layering, meaning all layers are the same length from the head’s surface. • This creates a soft, rounded silhouette without sharp edges. • Works well on medium to long hair for adding movement and body. • Gives a light, airy feel – perfect for clients who want volume but not too much weight.#RoundLayers #LayeredHaircut #HaircutTransformation #HairLayers #SoftLayers #LayeredHairstyle #VolumeHaircut #HaircutInspiration #SalonHaircut #HairEducation #HairAcademy #HairstylistLife #ProfessionalHaircut #HaircutTechnique #layersforvolume #coiffeuracademy
