How to spend a perfect winter day in Concord, Massachusetts! ❄️ Just 30 minutes outside Boston, Concord is a charming historic town with tons to see & do. All of its local history, combined with great restaurants & shopping, make it a perfect spot to explore this winter! 🔥 It’s easy to visit Concord as a day trip, but if you want to stay over, head to @concordscolonialinn. Dating back to 1716, it offers 56 guest rooms, as well as several restaurants, and is located right on the town common. It’s a cozy spot to spend a cold day! 📚 Downtown Concord is walkable from the inn, where you’ll find lots of great shops & restaurants. @concordbookshop is one of my favorite spots to stop, with a great selection of staff picks, and the cutest children’s section! Other favorites include the adorable @patinagreenshop, @graemroasters, and of course the @concordsheeseshop! ☕️ If you’re looking for a coffee or a bite, pop into @mainstreetscafe, offering grab n’ go and sit-down options, including all-day breakfast. I recommend the Eggnog Latte for a special treat! 🚂 And how about breakfast or lunch in a historic train depot? Head to @clubcarcafe in West Concord to warm up with a hot chocolate, and grab a sandwich or cup of soup to enjoy while watching the trains come and go. 🍎 Another can’t-miss spot in Concord is @alcotts_orchard_house, home of Louisa May Alcott. Guided tours of the home are offered daily, during which you can see where Louisa wrote and set “Little Women” in 1868. 💣 And no trip to Concord is complete without a visit to @minutemannps to see the Old North Bridge & Minuteman Statue, where the American Revolution first began on April 19, 1775. Quintessential Fall in Massachusetts. Concord has always been one of my favorite towns outside of Boston to visit. A beautiful area in all seasons is just perfect in the fall. There’s lots to do and see in the area but here’s some favorite spots. 📍Minute Man National Historic Park. The site of the shot heard round the world is a wonderful place to visit with the Old North Bridge, the Minute Man statue and the Obelisk. The Old Manse and the boathouse are right near by with lots of trails. You can take a canoe into the Concord River to enjoy the foliage. 📍 Louisa May Alcott’s Orchard House. You can see where she wrote Little Women and learn about life in the Concord area. The grounds are great and the tour of the house was one of the better ones we’ve done. The pumpkins are a great touch. @newenglandchickadee just posted all about this @alcotts_orchard_house Go check it out! 📍Main Street. Multiple churches and historic buildings with beautiful foliage. A few coffee shops and other small businesses to check out. 📍Walden Pond. Take the walk around the pond for some lovely views and a nice fall walk. 📍 Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Some of the world’s best writers were laid to rest at this cemetery. Let’s take a walk around Louisa May Alcott’s Orchard House aka 𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓗𝓸𝓶𝓮 𝓸𝓯 𝓛𝓲𝓽𝓽𝓵𝓮 𝓦𝓸𝓶𝓮𝓷 🕯️✨ 📍Concord, MA @alcotts_orchard_house I thoroughly enjoyed the guided tour of the Alcott house. The love and warmth within its walls was palpable, it felt like stepping right into the pages of Little Women. My favorite part was wandering through the garden and seeing each sister’s section, it felt so personal and enchanting. ✨And a fun fact I learned: over 80% of the belongings inside are original to the Alcotts themselves! After your visit, continue to travel down the main road for just a couple minutes and you can explore Concord’s quaint downtown area. Shop, eat and stroll ✨
