Princess cone hat (also known as a hennin) tutorial 🧚🏻♀️ Ren faire? Medieval times? Chappell roan concert? and you wanna look like a princess? 🙆🏼♀️🩷 This one’s for you! Follow along to make your own ✨ Things to note: this can be made with fabric glue / hot glue + cardboard stock instead of sewing and interfacing. Use what you have! I’ve seen tons of no sew versions, but I had interfacing on hand and prefer sewing over gluing. 🧵 Materials: 🧵 Main fabric (using a medium weight brocade here) 🧵 Medium to heavy weight interfacing (or card stock) 🧵 Hot glue 🧵 Trim or decorations of choice 🧵 Organza or chiffon (lightweight) for the veil ✨ Optional: add a wooden dowel to the back of the hat for extra support ✨ #hennin #princesshat #renaissancefaire #renfaire #medievalfashion #medievalcore #fantasyfashion #cosplaytutorial #diycosplay #cosplaysewing #cosplaycraft #costumemaking #sewingtutorial #historicalinspired #fantasycosplay #renfaireoutfit

No-Sew Witch Hat tutorial: as promised, I’m sharing some tutorials on how to transform a regular hat into a Halloween costume, starting with the no-sew witch hat. As I mentioned in the video, I did sew the cone portion — but that’s because I didn’t originally make this with the intention of it being a no-sew project. You can easily hot glue the cone to never have to touch a sewing machine or needle and thread — I promise! My fabric is cotton sateen from @spoonflower, and I used interfacing on the cone since the fabric is lightweight. If you don’t have interfacing to stiffen the cone, make sure you’re either using a more substantial fabric or just double it up! #DIY #nosew

An impeccable use of free will😌 I was feeling really uninspired a couple of days ago so I decided to take a break and make this fun medieval princess cone hat! (Also called a hennin but who really calls it that lol) Now I feel like it needs a dress to go with it #medievalfashion #medievalcostume #hennin #princessfashion #costumedesigner #disneyprincess #sewing #medievaltimes #diyfashion

This came in very useful recently when my youngest needed to dress up as a crayon for school! 🖍️ These also make for perfect little party hats. Why buy when you can easily and cheaply make these at home?! All you’ll need is an A4 sheet of paper, a compass, some double-sided sticky tape and some elasticated string. Cut the length of your piece of card down to 29.5 cm and set your compass to approx 14.8 cm.
