Trotz guter Chancen der Gäste erhöhte ebenfalls Fix in der 17. Minute auf 2:0. Birkenfeld verkürzte schnell (20.), bevor Noah Kern nach Vorlage von Fix das 3:1 erzielte (32.). Kurz darauf fiel das 3:2 – Halbzeitstand. Die zweite Hälfte blieb umkämpft, doch unsere starke Defensive verteidigte den knappen Vorsprung bis zum Abpfiff. Ein hart erkämpfter Pokal-Fight mit dem besseren Ende für uns! Wermutstropfen: Elijah Schottmüller verletzte sich schwer und musste ins Krankenhaus. I know this sounds crazy but Connor and I texted almost everyday if we didn’t see each other. Always ending with a heart. After he was killed I was desperate for information. What happened to my son? How could he die on Sheldon Road? I wanted to know what he did on April 23. I had his phone. It was my lifeline. I kept it away from everything. It was all I had. My answers. On May 23, one month after he was killed, I retraced Connor’s drive from the gym to where he died. Then I did something… I went into the gym. Broken. Crying. I asked to see the manager. Obviously out of place. This nice man comes to see what I needed. I said we need to go to your office. We went to his office and I told him I was going to ask him something he probably would never expect to be asked. I told him my son left the gym and was killed minutes later. This was the last place he was alive. I asked if they had video of him. I had never been in Connor’s gym. I swear I felt him there. I saw why he liked it. It had a fun energy. I felt Connor there. I left the gym. Went to the turn where he lay dying on the road. Went to the Taco Bell. That day I connected all my movements to Connor. I came home with our Taco Bell. Then I noticed something on Connor’s phone. A heart. I thought it was a sticker at first. I had missed it. I thought how did I miss a heart on his phone. Then I saw it was wet. I went to Connor’s sister and asked if she saw the heart. She saw it. She took the picture I posted. Nothing dripped on Connor’s phone. I kept it away from any liquid or anything that could come close to damaging it. But that heart was there. I can’t explain how it got there. Today, I went to Connor’s apartment. I played his music. I cried. I told him to give me I sign. I miss him so much. When I got home, I closed the gate. I do this multiple times a day. Before I sat back down, I saw a heart on my seat. It was perfect. A light. I don’t know what I believe anymore. I read somewhere if you recieve a sign, thank them. So Connor, my angel, thank you. Mama needed that. I saw it Connor.
