Easiest way to plan your next 30 days of content in 30 minutes. Comment “formats” for my visual database of top short-form formats with examples. This is called the 6x5 method. 6 topics, 5 formats. First, we need to find winning topics. Start with your main niche. Then, brainstorm all the sub-topics that would make sense for your ideal viewer. If your niche is dentistry, the sub-topics might be brushing, flossing, cavities, veneers, mouthguards, you get the picture. You want to come up with 6 of these topics where you have some unique perspective to share. If you’re not sure which topics to use, you can pull this straight from Sandcastles, it shows you the best-performing videos in your niche so you know exactly which topics are already working. Next, we need formats. There are 20 different video formats that work best on social media. You’re gonna pick 5 of these that you want to try over the next month. The simplest way is to pick the ones that look the easiest, or that you’ve liked making in the past. But the smartest way is to pick the same formats your competitors already had success with. Once you have your 6 topics and 5 formats, make a chart like this (show the grid), and schedule out each calendar day rotating across the topics. When that day comes, all you have to focus on is coming up with unique contrarian perspectives to share for that topic in that format and you’re good to go. If you feel like this is “too much” ↓ Honestly… yes, it is a lot of content. But growth comes from being active. There are creators posting 20–30 reels a day, putting themselves out there so posting 1 is not “too much”, it’s the baseline if you want a faster growth. For me personally, that’s not realistic. My edits take time, so I know my growth will be slower and I’m okay with that. But if your goal is faster growth, you do have to put yourself out there more and stay consistent with it.
