National Counterterrorism Center: At Least 18,000 Known Or Suspected Terrorists Came In During Previous Admin

The Biden Administration let in “over 18,000 known and suspected terrorists,” according to testimony from Joe Kent, the director of the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC). He spoke at the House Homeland Security Committee’s annual threats hearing on Thursday. “So far, NCTC has identified around 18,000 known and suspected terrorists that the Biden administration let come into our country. These are individuals who under normal circumstances would never be allowed to enter our country because of their ties to jihadi groups like ISIS and al Qaeda,” claimed Kent while testifying before Congress. At the time of publication, the NCTC has not made the data available to the public to verify the numbers of alleged terrorists. Kent also discussed the Nov. 26 shooting where an Afghan national killed one National Guard member and injured another. He claimed during his testimony that tens of thousands of Afghan nationals brought to the U.S. during Operation Allies Welcome in 2021, “were not vetted properly to come into the United States.” The DC shooter, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, was evacuated by the U.S. military in August 2021 as U.S. forces withdrew from Afghanistan and reportedly was vetted multiple times. According to @nbcnews, multiple officials said that Lakanwal would have been vetted again when he applied for asylum, which was granted in April, under the Trump administration. Kent served in the U.S. Army for 20 years, where he completed 11 combat deployments, including some in the Middle East.
