Here are our 3 non-negotiables: The 8pm Club Once the kids are down, that time is sacred. No phones, no work talk, no household logistics. Just us. We protect this boundary like our marriage depends on it - because it does. True Daily Connection Most couples spend less than 4 minutes per day NOT talking about logistics. We’re intentional about connecting emotionally even in the chaos. Sometimes it’s 20 minutes, sometimes it’s 5. But we prioritize seeing each other as lovers, not just co-managers. Clear the Decks Regularly Small resentments kill intimacy faster than anything. Hurt feelings, misunderstandings, little frustrations - we address them before they grow bigger. You can’t be open and vulnerable in the bedroom when you’re carrying unresolved tension. The busier life gets, the more intentional you have to be about protecting your connection. These three rules keep us emotionally and physically connected even when life tries to pull us apart. Intimacy doesn’t happen by accident in marriage. It happens by design.
