CRADLE MOUNTAIN 🏔️The most challenging hike we have EVER done🥾 We couldn’t come to Tasmania and not try the most iconic hike! 14km, 8 hours, grade 5 difficulty, and a journey of mixed emotions 🌿🚶♂️ Despite not seeing any wombats and the -6°C peak warning, we pushed through rainforests, waterfalls, and a nerve-wracking scramble to the summit. 🧗♂️We followed the Overland Trail up to Marion’s Lookout and then headed to the summit! The views? Absolutely worth it. But that didn’t come without the challenges! No food, no water, and a race against the shuttle clock 🕒 This hike tested our limits, left a piece of us on that mountain, and showed us the raw beauty of nature. 🌄 If you’re daring to take on Cradle Mountain, remember: be overprepared. This hike comes with risks. #cradlemountain #cradlemountainnationalpark #hikewithme #tasmania #cradlemountainsummit

@globetrottingheels While I have many bucket list destinations, I also have a long list of bucket list stays — and @cradlemountainlodge has been sitting right at the top of that list for years. Tucked deep inside the wilderness of Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, this isn’t just a place you book for the night — it’s an experience you feel from the moment you arrive. Think private timber cabins surrounded by native bushland, wombats casually wandering past your deck, misty mornings that look straight out of a painting, and the kind of silence you didn’t realise you were craving. What I loved most? – Waking up to nothing but birdsong and crisp alpine air – The cosy fireplace moments after long hikes – Easy access to Dove Lake walks and some of Tasmania’s most iconic trails – The feeling of being completely off-grid… but still incredibly comfortable After spending the day exploring Cradle Mountain, there’s something special about coming “home” to a warm cabin, good food, and that unmistakable wilderness calm. It’s luxury, but make it raw and grounding. If you’re planning a trip to Tasmania and want a stay that feels just as unforgettable as the landscape itself — this is it. Save this for your Tasmania itinerary. 🌿 #cradlemountainlodge #bucketlisthotels #cradlemountain #discovertasmanìa #tasmania

VLOG: hiking up Cradle Mountain (+ important info ❄️🏔️) I still can’t believe it was snowing in mid-November at Cradle Mountain… sorry WHAT?? 😂 We rocked up expecting mild Tassie weather and instead got full winter mode, so we pivoted and h hiked to Marion’s Lookout instead. The views were still insane and the trail was such a fun mix of challenge + adventure !! Cradle Mountain hike recommendations (with difficulty): • Marion’s Lookout (moderate - hard): Steep chain section but nothing too wild if you’re prepared! Couldn’t recommend this enough. • Cradle Summit (hard): Only attempt in good weather - exposed, rocky, and super challenging. Save this for a clear day. • Dove Lake Circuit (easy - moderate): Perfect if you want big scenery with less elevation - it’s gorgeous the whole way around. • Enchanted Walk (easy): Great warm-up walk or a quick stroll if the weather turns (we did it in the pouring rain). Must-knows about Cradle Mountain: 🚌 You can’t just drive straight to Dove Lake - you take the shuttle bus from the visitor centre (runs regularly). ⛈️ Weather changes fast — pack layers, a rain jacket, and be mentally ready for anything (including surprise snow apparently). 🥾 Bring proper hiking shoes — the terrain can get slippery, especially on Marion’s Lookout. 🎫 Entry requires a Parks Pass or you can buy a day pass at the visitor centre. 🥨 Pack snacks & water — there’s pretty limited facilities once you’re inside the park. #cradlemountain #visittasmania #tasmania

Hotel at Cradle Mountain by @austinmaynardarchitects, coming soon. Nestled within Tasmania’s ancient wilderness, the new Cradle Mountain hotel is a testament to sensitive and purposeful design. Conceived by Melbourne-based Austin Maynard Architects, the project holds deep personal significance for directors Andrew Maynard and Mark Austin, both of whom were born, raised, and educated in Tasmania, earning degrees in Environmental Design and Architecture from the University of Tasmania. Rather than a single large structure, the hotel’s functions are strategically scattered across the landscape, minimising impact and inviting guests to immerse themselves in the natural surroundings as they move throughout the hotel and its landscape. This design philosophy is centred on a rare and invaluable feature of Cradle Mountain: its pristine, unpolluted dark-sky. The hotel is a sanctuary from artificial light, offering an unparalleled view of the Milky Way. To protect this core experience, the buildings themselves are designed to be almost completely black. This unique choice allows them to absorb light and recede into the landscape, ensuring that the true stars of the show are the ancient Tasmanian wilderness and the spectacular, unencumbered night sky above.

Tasmanian Road Trip • Part 1 • Cradle Mountain National Park. Winter in Tassie is utterly breathtaking. We got enough snow to build a tiny snowman who Grace proudly named ‘Olaf’. She was thrilled to visit the Tassie devils and look for wildlife on every hike. ⛄️ #roadtrip #snow #Tasmania
