Seriously Crispy Chips 😋 Tips for great chips: 1 Choose a good quality potato for chipping. 2 Remove all the starch before boiling (Starch is the cloudy water when rinsing the potatoes/cut chips) 3 Cook until just starting to fall apart then drain. 4 Air dry the chips once drained for as long as possible to dry out. 5 Pre heat the oil in the oven, when coking the chip in the oil, keep turning together to cook evenly in the oil during cooking. 6 Season generously with salt to serve. I tested these several different ways and landed on something inspired by my friends over at @kitchensanctuary - so credit to them for mastering the air fryer chip game! The recipe has just gone live on the blog. Comment ‘save’ and I’ll send the recipe right over to you 🧡 AIR FRYER CHIPS | Serves 3-4 INGREDIENTS 700g / 1.5lbs Baking Potatoes (Maris Pipers or Russets) 2 tbsp Veg Oil 1 tbsp Cornflour/Cornstarch 1/2 tsp EACH: Paprika, Salt 1/4 tsp EACH: Garlic Powder, Black Pepper Flaky Sea Salt, to serve (or more regular salt) METHOD 1️⃣Scrub any dirt off the potatoes if needed, then slice them into chips around 1-1.5cm / 0.4-0.6” thick. Keep the skins on and try and slice them as precisely/evenly as possible, just so they all cook at an even rate. 2️⃣Use kitchen roll/paper towels to dry the chips of any excess moisture, then add them to a large mixing bowl with 1 tbsp cornflour. Give them a good toss until they’re evenly coated, then toss in the oil until evenly coated. Finish by mixing in the seasoning until evenly coated. Don’t let them sit for too long, otherwise the salt will draw out moisture and cause them to steam. 3️⃣Add them to the air fryer basket (roughly space them out as best you can) then cook for 10 minutes at 190C/375F. Give them a firm shake a couple of times during this. After 10 minutes, turn the heat up to 200C/400F and cook for a further 8-10 minutes, or until nice and crispy. Again, give them a couple of shakes during this. 4️⃣Serve with more salt (to taste) then tuck in and enjoy! *I have the dual ninja air fryer and these fit perfectly between the two draws

The perfect oven chip recipe… enjoy 😍😍 Full recipe below 👇 INGREDIENTS 3-4 Maris pipers 4 tbsps vegetable oil Salt METHOD 1. Preheat the oven to 220°C Get the oil onto a baking tray and place in the oven 2. Slice your potatoes into the infamous chip shape (the thickness of your index finger) and get them into cold water to soak for a few minutes. 3. After the time has passed, rinse them off, get them into a shallow but wide saucepan and cover in cold, heavily salted water 4. Bring the water to the boil and then cook for a further 7 minutes, until tender but not falling apart. You want to be able to poke with a knife and the potatoes slide off. 5. Drain the potatoes in a colander, then get them lay onto a cooling rack. Suspend this over the saucepan you’ve just used and cover with a tea towel. Leave for 10 minutes. 6. Carefully remove the tray from the oven and tip the chips into it, giving them one little mix so that they get coated in the hot oil. Return the tray to the oven for 30-50 minutes. 7. Half-way cooking give the chips a little turn so that all the sides get the opportunity to crisp up! 8. Homemade Chilli Garlic Chips ♥️ 2 medium Potatoes Cold water 1 tablespoon white vinegar or apple cider vinegar Oil for frying Spice Mix: 1 tsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes) ½ tsp garlic powder ½ tsp salt (or to taste) ½ tsp mango powder (amchur) Slice potatoes very thin using a knife or mandoline. In a bowl, mix cold water + 1 tbsp vinegar. Add the potato slices and soak for 20–30 minutes. (This removes starch and makes them extra crispy.) Pat the slices completely dry with paper towels or a clean cloth. Heat oil on medium heat. Fry the chips in small batches until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels. My Favourite Chips - crispy exterior, fluffy good stuff inside. Potato dish elite, whoever you are it’s hard to deny the pure joy of eating good chips. These are how I make mine.. I used Maris piper today, choosing the right potato is important. 1. Square off the potatoes rather than peeling them I like the odd bit of skin in there but you can peel them if you like. 2. Cut into even sized chips 2cm square roughly, length doesn’t really matter (lol) 3. Rinse in cold water then add to a pan of cold salted water and bring to a gentle boil for 10 mins until the chips are just fork tender. 4. Drain and dry on a wire rack uncovered in a fridge, when completely chilled they are ready for frying. 5. Heat the oil to 130c drop the chips for 8 mins, heat the oil to 180c and give them a further 3 mins. 6. Sprinkle with sea salt and serve #chips #fries #food #recipe #easyrecipes
