Crouch End is one of my favourite parts of London full of character, independent shops and that rare “village in the city” atmosphere. Right at its centre stands Hornsey Town Hall. Built between 1933–35 and designed by architect Reginald Uren, it quickly became one of Britain’s most celebrated modernist civic buildings, even winning the RIBA London Architecture Medal in 1936. After decades of decline, the building has now been brought back to life through a huge restoration project, transforming it into a hotel, arts space and community hub. And from the roof you get this stunning view across one of North London’s most underrated neighbourhoods. Killing time before my Pilates class. First attempt back at Crow Pose since my knee injury — and nailed it. Sometimes you don’t realise how much strength you’ve built in the background until you test it. No running for a while, no heavy lower body… but the core, upper body and control have still been working hard. Little wins make my day. Also… turns out I quite like balancing on my hands 😅
