Consider 4 things while choosing an optional subject. 1) Your interest in the subject: The subject was one of your graduation subjects, you have a general curiosity or inclination towards the subject. If you choose a subject based on your interest, you are more likely to add more effort to that subject. 2) Scoring trend and predictability Languages generally are high-scoring subjects. Subjects which are over-staurated (alot of people choosing the same subject) are more likely to be targeted in terms of scoring. eg: highest score in criminology in CSS'2023 was 60. 3) Syllabus of the subject and time required: Before choosing any optional, go through the fpsc recommended syllabus for that subject and have an estimate of the time required to cover the syllabus at hand. eg: If you are choosing histories (US, European, British, Indo-Pak) as optionals, they are going to require more of your time because of extensive syallabus. 4) Subject overlap with other subjects: This point is often ignored while choosing optionals.
