We made our own tile!!! My sister teaches ceramics and when I showed her a picture of some tile I loved, she said, “we can make those”! My daughter was the artist and I was the grunt labour, and together the three of us pulled this off somehow! What an incredible project this lovely kitchen backsplash turned out to be! Four thousand square inches of our unique handmade ceramic tiles, set in epoxy grout 💎 . This was a dream come true and a true labor of ❤️ that required Harry, Sarah and (even) me to get all the grout in, floated, and then completely cleaned off of each tile before it set. #donttrythisathome . SO many of you have commented on how lucky the owners must be to live with this everyday! We agree, since this custom piece was installed into our new studio apartment on the hill above our shop — available soon as an Airbnb for a limited time. . Harry and I plan to eventually retire into this very unique space — it contains most of our favorite artwork (both inside and out) and was designed to take full advantage of our incredible mountain views! .
