Cyanotype in 5 Steps⬇️ 1. Prepare paper - coat it with cyanotype solution. 2. Arrange objects - place flowers, leaves, or negatives. 3. Expose to sunlight - let UV light do the magic. 4. SOLAR Printing 🤯😱 phewwww ! Lagta hai ye Table Cover meri peedhiyaan dekhne wali hai 😝🫶🏻 What do you think ? Every year, @ntpclimited hosts its amazing Girl Empowerment Mission workshop, giving young girls from underprivileged communities a chance to learn, explore, and discover new skills through a variety of creative and educational activities. Since 2018, GEM has empowered 13,000 girls in 40+ locations across India. Not only this, every year 10% of the participants are selected to receive free higher secondary education by NTPC. This year, when I got a chance to do DIY with these bright kids, I couldn’t say NO! We decided to try solar printing—starting with the kids on paper and then moving on to fabric to create a Kantha stitch table cover. HERE’s WHAT YOU NEED TO DO - ➡️ Pehle Cyanotype Kit or Cyanotype sheets khareed lo online ➡️ If you’re doing this on fabric - take any cotton white piece, mix both the Cyanotype chemicals (Potassium Ferricyanide & Ferric Ammoinum Citrate), apply on fabric and leave it in dark room overnight for drying. DO NOT do this in bright light 💡 ➡️ Now your fabric or paper is ready for composition. Again choose a dim light spot, put down any flatten object (pressed flowers, leaves, stickers etc) and cover it with any glass. ➡️ Next you need to take your sheet out in SUN ☀️ and allow the photochemicals to react with UV rays. If the sun is bright 10-12 mins of reaction, if it’s cloudy allow 20 mins. ➡️ Fir aapko fabric/paper pe se object nikalne hai and directly put it in water. EXCESS chemicals would come off, change water 2-3 times and within mins you’ll see the PRINT of your object. ➡️ Once your pieces are ready, sew them, make Kantha stitches with a liner at back and lastly give it a neat piping border.
