David Attenborough turns 100 next week! But I have a bit of a controversial opinion about the documentaries the BBC are releasing... I genuinely don’t think any of them will change people’s behaviour. I want to be clear: this is nothing against David Attenborough or what he has achieved. But here’s what fifty years of his documentaries have actually taught us: Information alone does not create action. 🧊 We have watched glaciers collapse in 4K. 🪸 We have seen bleached coral reefs up close. And at the end of the show most people turn it off and go to bed. The Glaciers are still retreating and biodiversity loss is now a national security threat. Telling people the problem or solution never works. People need to be part of the solution building themselves. David’s new documentaries will start conversations, but we need to be ready to bridge that gap by giving people ownership over their decisions for a better future. Do you agree?
