This observation just dawned on me today because I guess I got used to it, but they really do ask for your NIE for everything. At least it feels that way. Back home in Scotland the most details I had to give was a name and an email address. Has anyone else noticed this or am I just making it up?

Within 24hrs of requesting the review, my block was taken off and the Reel I posted immediately after now has 20k views. Tah-dah! Back to normal. Also note that even if you’re not restricted now, it’s smart to check regularly (weekly if you’re an active creator) especially if you’re working with brands or running ads. My runs are gonna take soooooooo long now🙃 I’ve had shin splints at least once a year, ever year since I started running. Sometimes even twice a year. I’ve even gone to PT for it. I was never athletic as a kid so it never dawned on me that I’d have to learn how to run (of all things) as an adult. It dawned on me recently that so much of the difficulty of shifting is just about exposure and familiarity. I remember there were shifts I used to think were very hard when I was 13 that now I find more or less OK—hopefully that means the shifts I struggle with now might feel easier in another decade? 🤣 The actual physical motion of long-range shifting—bringing the shoulder forward, dramatically expanding the angle of the elbow—is not something we do regularly in the repertoire. But when I do encounter it, I find it quite psychologically difficult. So I’ve been doing this warm-up with harmonics in 1st position and the high positions for the past couple of weeks. The finger (in this case 4) on the bottom harmonic stays the same, but the finger on the top harmonic cycles through all 4 fingers. With the small change in fingering, each shift feels slightly different, which is just enough to keep the mind curious about the sensations in the body. Then I do the same exercise but swap strings going from D to A; with a different left-right motion, all the shifts again feel different. I try to feel the shifts slowly and smoothly. Then I’ll change the harmonics and do a different set of shifts. The great thing about the harmonics is that they allow you to be slightly imprecise. For me, this is the key to the warmup, since it’s not about precision but rather physical awareness of the arm motion.
