She was so excited to see the surprise! 🥹😂 backstory ::: Kay and I have been getting all of our Christmas decorations put up, and wanted to get pink decorations for Kinsley’s room, because her room is very pink and girly. We got everything ordered and I went to set up the surprise. I started to decorate the tree and decided that Kinsley would want to do that herself, so I just set everything up and got it ready to decorate! Then I got kay and showed her! Kay loved it and thinks it fits perfectly in the room. I can’t wait to see how Kinsley decorates it! 💕

Oof. Hope this finds my people! Who else decorates, rearranges, thrifts, antiques, & starts new projects when life gets tough? Been doing this since I was 6 & it works like a charm. Been going through it behind the scenes with a few things including the decline of my grandma as of the last few weeks & it’s so tough to lose your person before they even leave earth you know? I know my friends who have dealt with dementia can relate. She is the one who gave me the passion for all I do. From my love for decor to antiques to style to individuality & even my love for Peter rabbit so it’s fitting when I got home & I had a few minutes to myself to cry that I decorated this little corner as a tribute to her with a few plates she has passed down to me years ago. I also used a giant antique silhouette art piece that I picked up at a flea market a while back that I’ve been waiting to style. This wasn’t the spot I had in mind, but for now it works well! The mantel turned into an unexpected red, white, & blue mantel which is fitting for summer as well. This shows you that you don’t have to use flags as your decor, but instead find items that you already have including foliage that fits the color scheme. I hope this makes you feel less alone today if you are going through something & also if you are like this as well.
