Boycotts against corporations can be powerful tools. But they have to be waged as part of larger collective struggles with real plans to win — not simply as acts for frustrated individuals to take on their own. If you comment “boycott” we’ll send you Eric Blanc’s full piece detailing all six points on how to effectively wage a boycott, and a free digital subscription to Jacobin.

Have you boycotted yet? The link I’m sharing is carefully documented by me after reading through many reports and the websites of boycott movements etc. ❓Why Boycott? It helps put pressure on companies to stop supporting or profiting from actions that harm Palestinians and violate international law. When many people refuse to buy from or use these brands, it can hurt the companies’ sales and reputation, making them more likely to change their business practices. Take Puma for example. After worldwide boycotts, Puma ended its sponsorship of Israeli football teams in settlements and McDonald’s saw major drops in sales in many countries for backing the Israeli military. These real-world changes show how collective action can make a big difference. ✨✨✨ Yes, we can’t change everything. Because many of these issues are systemic fallacies. But choosing which brands get our MONEY is definitely something we can all do. #palestinelivesmatter #israel #gaza

Boycott Israel? Cute idea. But let’s get real. No iPhone Face ID. No dual-lens camera. No Waze. No drip irrigation. No Google. No FaceTime. No pill-cam. You’d basically have to live under a rock. And even then... odds are, that rock’s been 3D-mapped by Israeli tech. #IsraeliInnovation

It's actually wild how much of this stuff they just say to our face because they think most people won't pay attention or will forget about it. Check out @theconsciouscitizens for the resource list and more guides/resources about community organizing! Highly recommend @boycatapp to help you boycott. And of course, check out the work of @bds.movement

Boycotts aren’t just symbolic - they hit where it hurts. 💥 If our spending can empower oppression, imagine what it could do for justice… so, where will your money stand?

#boycott is named after a person. Not the person doing the boycotting but the one being boycotted. While most eponyms are in someone's honour, this is more of a name and shame. Erne earned the ire of the Irish but, boy, Boycott bore the burning brunt. #linguistics #etymology #language #words

Ceviche & Boycotts 🦐✊🏽 There is a long history of working class movements using boycotts to achieve their goals. This is NOT a comprehensive video. This is a brief intro meant to get the conversation going. Lmk in the comments what other boycott movements come to mind.
