My honest review of @functionhealth by @drmarkhyman as someone who has been a member for 2 years now. Function Health is an annual membership created by Dr. Mark Hyman and a team that tests over 100 biomarkers important for longevity. Here are the pros and cons of Function Health: + you pay a one time annual fee which includes comprehensive bloodwork 2x/year. You don’t need to go through insurance! + you test more biomarkers than your annual physical exam which only tests the basics + you can easily add on additional tests such as food, sensitivity, female health, the Galleri cancer test, and so many more + you get access to a dashboard that will house all of your results so you can feel empowered to understand your health. And won’t get charged for requesting your own records! Cons: + my biggeat gripe is that you don’t test the same 100 markers at the 6-month mark or at the very least, the bio markers that were out of range + you don’t speak to a physician once you get your results so you’ll have to take the results to your own general physician + booking an appointment can be clunky Overall, I am happy with Function Health and I do think it’s worth it. There are 7 Functions in Business... and the secret to growing a business is knowing what you’re missing... Here’s the hack... A Founder can only take charge of 2 functions at most, the first is fixed, and the second is floating. The 7 functions are: 1/ Sales 2/ Marketing 3/ Finance & Accounts 4/ Operations 5/ HR & People Mgmt 6/ R&D 7/ Leadership The fixed function of the founder is Leadership... where do we go, what’s the direction, what’s the target for the next year... what are the macro trends, and which trend will we ride while keeping our values and mission in order. The floating function is picking any one function from the remaining that requires their maximum attention depending on the stage and size of the business. It could be either Sales or Finance or HR or R&D. Everything else... has to have one point of contact responsible to manage it... and one needs to Professionalize Each Function. Get an expert of each function and make them responsible. So, minimum number of people in a company looking to scale should ideally be 5. A founder looking at 2 functions, and 4 other people taking care of 5 other functions... (one key person can manage 2 in the beginning). #casarthakahuja
