Failure. It’s a peculiar thing, isn’t it? It doesn’t even feel great to say out loud. Webster define it as “a lack of success” and while that definition is perfectly clear, we don’t give failure the good credit it deserves. Failure offers us much more once we allow ourselves to look beyond its direction. “I have not failed 10,000 times. I have successfully found 10,000 ways that will not work.” - Thomas Edison When it comes down to it, failure is a critically important part of the path to success and our growth as human beings. So why does it have such a negative connotation? If we are trying new things and pushing our limits we should be failing constantly! Each time we try, we fail less than the time before it. This process is empowerment, growth and learning. It it time we take back failure, own it and grow from it! I’ve been pondering this peculiar game we play, this need to define ourselves, to be something in the eyes of others. In this digital world and even in the so-called real one, we get placed into tidy little boxes. Fitness man, perhaps. But truthfully, I don’t feel like any one thing at all. More like a ripple in the stream, both everything and nothing, inseparable from the whole. O que é a ataxia? Talvez você já tenha visto um gatinho com um andar peculiar, caminhando descoordenado e cambaleante. Isso acontece porque ele sofre de algo conhecido como ataxia. Se define como a falta de coordenação e precisão nos movimentos. Essa condição ocorre quando existe um conflito ou lesão em uma das áreas que controlam os movimentos A ataxia pode ocorrer após uma complicação de algum tipo ou acidente que o gato sofreu, provocando uma lesão. Pode ainda ter nascido com o problema ou aparecer dentro de semanas, ou meses de vida. Causas e tipos de ataxia A ataxia tem várias causas, as mais importantes são: Uma lesão em algum dos três sistemas: vestibular, sensorial e cerebelo; Condições do sistema nervoso Uma grande fraqueza causada por outros problemas, como fome, anemia, etc; Problemas musculares Problemas em sistemas que afetam o funcionamento do cérebro e nervos periféricos Condições ortopédicas que afetam os ossos e as articulações Alguns dos sintomas e lesões podem resultar de acidentes, envenenamentos, problemas sérios na dieta, tumores e infecções graves, entre muitas outras possibilidades. Além disso, a ataxia pode ser dividida em três tipos diferentes, dependendo da área afetada: Ataxia Cerebelar: Enfraquece o controle sobre o equilíbrio e a coordenação dos movimentos. Os felinos com este tipo de ataxia podem ficar de pé, mas, caminham de forma descoordenada e exagerada, com as pernas abertas, saltando e tremendo, tem a precisão muito afetada, portanto, se torna bem dificultoso saltar e quando o fazem acaba sendo um salto exagerado e desajeitado. Ataxia Vestibular: Causada por algum problema no ouvido médio ou interno, ou em alguns nervos que conectam o ouvido ao cérebro. Normalmente o problema é unilateral, para o lado em que o gato inclina a cabeça. Eles tendem a balançar e cair para o lado afetado. Por outro lado, quando ocorre bilateralmente, observa-se uma oscilação de lado a lado, pois, eles perdem o equilíbrio.
