Affair rumors just won’t leave Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer alone

White House Communications Director Steven Cheung announced that Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer is leaving the Trump administration. In a statement, Cheung said she will transition to a role in the private sector, adding that “she has done a phenomenal job… protecting American workers.” Her resignation comes after mounting scrutiny over alleged misconduct, including reports of an inappropriate relationship with a subordinate and claims of drinking on the job. Chavez-DeRemer is now the third woman to leave Trump’s cabinet in recent weeks, after Kristi Noem and Pam Bondi. Keith Sonderling, the current deputy labor secretary and a former EEOC commissioner with a background in labor law, is expected to step in as acting secretary.

U.S. Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer — who represented Oregon’s 5th Congressional District from 2023 to 2025 — is under investigation by the agency’s inspector general on allegations the married cabinet member has had an inappropriate relationship with a subordinate, spent taxpayer money on personal travel and kept champagne, bourbon and Kahlua in her office, where she drank during the workday. I questioned an Assistant Secretary at the Department of Labor to determine whether he still has confidence in the Secretary of Labor. Secretary Chavez-DeRemer is facing allegations of mistreating her staff, drinking on the job, and misusing taxpayer dollars. Republicans are turning a blind eye to these investigations and failing to take these accusations seriously. If the Secretary of Labor cannot treat her own staff with basic respect, how can she be trusted to fight for workers across the country?

Labor Super. 🚩💸 Ever wonder why the Labor Party acts like they own the place? 🏛️ It’s because they basically do. And they’re using your retirement steak to pay for their caviar and seafood buffet. 🥩➡️🥂🦞🦪 Let’s look at the history. 📜 Paul Keating made superannuation compulsory. He didn't do it because he’s a nice bloke; he did it to build a $1.3 trillion piggy bank for his mates. 🏧🐖💰🤝 Now, they love that "Not-For-Profit" label, don’t they? 😇🙄 Sounds saintly. But let’s get real: "Not-for-profit" does not mean "no money." It just means they don’t pay shareholders. 🚫💹 Instead, they’re sitting on mountains of cash from your fees and investment returns. ⛰️💵📈 Because there are no shareholders, those billions in surplus stay inside the building. 🏦🔒 And what do they do with it? They spend it on "advocacy" and "lobbying." 🗣️💼 That’s code for funnelling cash through unions to run ads that just happen to help Labor stay in power. 🏛️🚩🗳️ It’s a closed loop. 🔄 Labor passes laws to protect the industry super model, and the funds turn around and say spending your money on Labor causes is in your "best interests." 🤨🤥 It’s the ultimate protection racket. 🔨🧥 And when a Labor MP loses their seat? 🚪👋 Don't worry about them!
