Aap kitni scripts padh sakte hain? Many of our Indian languages, like Maithili, Bhojpuri, and Himachali Pahadi, have lost their original scripts over time. In the entire ocean of Sanskrit literature… this vowel appears only once. 🤯 Yes, only ONE time — in ONE word. The letter is: ऌ (Ḷ / L̥) What’s wild is: every Indian script has its own symbol for it — ऌ | ঌ | ᬍ | ಌ | ഌ | 𑐈 …but scholars still debate its real pronunciation. One side argues the flow of the Maheshvara Sūtras supports a certain sound: aiuṇ–ṛl̥k… The other side argues Sanskrit always keeps unique sounds for unique letters, so this vowel must have a distinct pronunciation too.
