At 40 years old with three children, I found myself getting a divorce. What followed in the next three years would be the worst three years of my life. Not having my children full-time, coming face-to-face with everything I had buried with drugs and alcohol, low self worth and no idea what I was going to do was my rock bottom. Three years later, I’m living a life I never dreamed was possible. In the moment losing everything felt like hell, but in hindsight is the best thing to ever happen to me. I had nowhere to go but up and for the past three years, I’ve been building a life that I love brick by brick. I may be a few years behind, but I know I’m right on time. She mentioned chest tightness, so I suggested she lie down so I could check if her chakras were aligned—what I found was interesting: 🗣️ Throat Chakra: Blocked communication, holding back emotions. 🔥 Solar Plexus Chakra: Self-doubt, low confidence. 🎨 Sacral Chakra: Emotional stagnation, creative blocks. 📍 Root Chakra: Fluctuating stability, feeling ungrounded. These imbalances can affect her daily life, instability in her physical reality, financial concerns, or an unsettled emotional state, leaving her feeling stuck, uncertain, or physically drained. It can show up as difficulty making decisions, emotional blocks, or even physical tension—like the tightness Stefania had in her chest. This experience made me think about how often we accept feeling low, drained, and off-balance as 'Normal'. This is one of my favorite recipes, it’s hard to stop eating it. 🤤🥳 who’s going to make it? ⁣ ⁣ Here’s how my make my Ceviche recipe:⁣ ⁣1 lb tilapia filets diced ⁣ 1 lb cod filets diced ⁣ 1 lbs raw peeled/devined shrimp ⁣diced⁣ 5 medium tomatoes diced ⁣ 2 large carrots shredded ⁣ 1 small purple onion diced ⁣ 2 small jalapeños diced ⁣(deseeded)⁣ 1 English cucumber diced ⁣ 1 bunch cilantro finely chopped⁣ 5-7 large lemons or 1 1/2 cup lemon juice⁣ 2 tsp Tajin ⁣chili powder ⁣ 1 tsp Tapatio hot sauce ⁣ 1 tsp real salt ⁣ 1/2 tsp black pepper ⁣ ⁣ Directions: ⁣ ⁣Dice shrimp, tilapia & cod into small pieces. Combine with 1 1/2 cups of lemon juice in a large bowl. Place in fridge and allow to rest for 20 - 30 mins, until the shrimp is mostly pink.⁣ ⁣ Remove from fridge, slowly combine diced veggies in and mix well. Add the Tapatio sauce and seasonings. ✨ It’s crazy how once I stopped chasing skinny and perfection and just started focusing on optimal health—whatever that looked like, I ended up looking and feeling better than I ever have. Here are five things I stopped doing in my 40s that led to my biggest glow-up yet: 1️⃣ Chasing skinny. I stopped obsessing over the number on the scale and started chasing health instead. The result? The fittest, leanest version of me I’ve ever known. 2️⃣ Drinking alcohol (and all the other substances). I relied on them my entire life. Letting them go was the first real step toward peace, clarity, and freedom. 3️⃣ People-pleasing. I used to bend so no one would be upset with me. Now I realize my existence alone will disappoint some people and that’s okay. You cannot live to please strangers on the internet. 4️⃣ Counting calories and eating low-fat everything. I was raised in the restrictive, calorie obsessed 90’s. Learning to eat full, satisfying meals with real fat and protein changed my hormones, my energy, and my body. 5️⃣ Holding onto the past. You can’t move forward if you’re gripping what’s behind you. Forgive, release, and trust that even what didn’t make sense was shaping your strength. Let go or be dragged.
