The Whittemore House is one of my favorite houses in Washington, DC. The brickwork is simply spectacular, and I love how subtly luxurious this house is. Not to mention the thoughtfulness and intentionality of the addition! —— #BestAddress #HistorySharedisHistorySaved #historicbuildings #dupontcircle #brickwork

💛 A gateway to the George Washingtons’ private world. Overlooking the Potomac, the Yellow Room marked the threshold between public and private life at Mount Vernon—distinguished by its vivid yellow textiles and elegant furnishings. #HistoricHome #AmericanHistory #History

Did you dust off your old 1996 Britannica encyclopedias to find Tuesday’s trivia answers? 😳 Ask your pal Siri? 😋 Or go with the classic standby—guessing? 😬 Well, wait no longer—here are the answers 👇 🏠 Willis Dickey built his home on Stark Highway South in 1881 (c) 🔥 It wasn’t until 1920 (a) that his house on Mansion Road was destroyed by a fire. Luckily for Willis, he owned another historic property—the Old Ordway House (d)—which was originally located on Robert Rogers Road. On its original site, the Old Ordway House was a 2½-story, center-chimney colonial. Dickey dismantled the structure and rebuilt the second floor and attic on the stone foundation of the Chase House on Mansion Road. And here’s the wild part 👀 It’s said that for more than 20 years, the central chimney of the Ordway House stood alone at 270 Robert Rogers Road—until it was finally demolished by a later owner. 🎥 Catch our reel to see what’s what! #historicalsociety #newhampshire #dunbarton

Built in 1884, Sagamore (Algonquin for “chieftain”) Hill served as the home of Theodore Roosevelt until his death in 1919. It served as the primary home for him, his wife, Edith, and their children up until her death. Since it was always expected to become a museum after her passing much of the original contents were saved and are what you see in there are the original antique pieces. The children were consulted on where everything was originally located so where the furnishings sit is also as they were when the family lived there. Touring the house truly is like stepping back in time. There are 20 something rooms in the house and you get to see all of them; this is just a highlight reel of my favorite spaces 😉 #longislandhistory #historynerd #historichouse #antiquedesign

Built in 1806 by a Revolutionary War captain. He fought bravely and became a successful grain merchant. This house tells a story of history and resilience. #HistoricHomes #HistoryBuff #RevolutionaryWar #ArchitecturalGem #HomeBuilt1806 #AmericanHistory #ReelsHistory

Wallingford Real Estate History - Judd Carriage House & Wallace Hose House From early fire protection to horse-drawn transportation, the Wallace Hose House and Judd Carriage House are rare survivors of the town’s industrial-era boom — still standing, still relevant, still telling history. #RealEstateHistory #RealEstateWithWes

I'm Tim and I'm absolutely in love with old homes. I didn't start out as a real estate agent. I started as someone who grew up surrounded by history. My mother was an antique dealer, and she taught me that everything has a story worth preserving. After she passed, that quiet passion became the heart of my work. Today, I help people discover the beauty, character, and story behind Omaha's most meaningful homes. I don't just sell houses, I research their history, interpret their stories, and help protect their futures. From grand mansions to character-filled gems across Dundee, Benson, Field Club, and beyond. I'm madly in love with this city's architecture wherever I can find it. My job? Make historic homes feel exciting, not scary. I educate clients about boilers, old windows, and aging systems so they can make confident decisions. I connect them to trusted contractors and resources. And I champion preservation because these homes deserve stewards who understand their significance. I know I'm the "history nerd" in the room, and I'm completely okay with that. Because I believe every story has a story to tell. If you're looking for a home with meaning, history, and lasting beauty, let me know. Nobody knows Omaha’s old homes better than me! #omaha #omaharealtor #omahahomes #omahane #omaharealestate
