Repeat pattern tutorial🌸 🌸Create a 12x12 inch canvas. Turn on the drawing guide and set the 2D grid size to Max. 🌸Create a diamond shape and use it as a template. Fill the shape with the desired elements on a new layer. 🌸Duplicate this layer 4 times and hide the original element layer. 🌸 Drag the 4 layers to 4 corners or quadrants. Once done, unhide the original layer 🌸 That’s it. Now you have your repeating pattern ready! By incorporating digital pattern drafting into my projects, I still need to bring them into the physical world. And the last time I checked, this pattern would require printing and piecing together over 70 pages. So I decided to upgrade my setup and invest in a projector. To calibrate the projection, I used @patternprojector this ensures the pattern is projected at the correct size and removes any perspective distortion. Hey lovelies A lot of experimenting was done on this practice pattern. I used the watercolour pen , tried new style of floral motif for detailing and a new way of making sure the repeat patterns are seamless ; the crop and resizing method. I swear learning how to use Procreate seems very difficult and for sure requires a lot time and patience but getting the hang of it is so much fun. Taking one feature at a time and practicing it till I fully understand makes my “me-time” so much productive. I love using the diamond method to create repeat patterns on procreate, I feel like it makes things even more seamless! I do this process differently, most tutorials I’ve seen involve drawing a diamond first, this is just what works for me! Hopefully it wasn’t too complicated to understand.
