Regret might be too strong a word… But after over a year of using our IKEA hack dining bench every day (and absolutely loving it!), the one thing I would *possibly* do differently is… Maybe not use push-to-open drawers! It’s never a problem when I sit here, but if someone else does (kids, visitors, my husband) they do often accidentally open the drawers with their legs - maybe they’re all just sitting wrong 🤷‍♀️😂 If I was doing it again I would probably use standard drawer runners, or create more of an overhang on the bench seat. The storage is very handy though so it’s a minor inconvenience in my opinion! #ikeahack #diningnook #diningbench #ikeabestå

You better believe I skipped into the house with these second hand bargains to style this corner 🤗. Bespoke on a budget was always the plan with this DIY project. The bench itself cost around £200 in materials to build and paint (we used leftover timber and OSB board for the frame). Then the no-sew, easy clean seat pads cost around £50 each to make. Couldn’t believe my luck to find this solid wood, extendable table for £25 on FBMP! It also came with 4 chairs that I might use elsewhere. Then last week on my mission to find some bentwood bistro chairs these sweetheart shaped beauties popped up for £10 each 🤩!!!
