Here’s how it works! 👇 Today is Part 1 of Helpful Hints for teaching long division!! 💾Don’t forget to LIKE and SAVE this for later and FOLLOW for more fun math hacks and resources! ➕➗➖✖️ ⭐️When dividing with multi-digit divisors, start with a cheat sheet and create multiples of the divisor to help with faster division and less chance of error! ⭐️When creating the chart, treat each column as its own individual multiplication problem! In the example above, I made groups of 26 by breaking apart the 20 and the 6. I listed the multiples of 20 then the multiples of 6 then added them together! ⭐️ Once all the multiples of my divisor are listed, I’ll be able to use them to complete my box method or standard algorithm for long division. ⭐️ Lots of kids can list their multiples of 26 without having to use the distributive method.
