This was such a surreal moment for me. DMC has been a part of my family for 3 generations. My grandma passed down her embroidery threads to my mom, and my mom passed them onto me. When @dmc_embroidery reached out to tell me they were sending me a little goodie box, I was in shock. I almost never accept things from brands, but I could just imagine how excited my grandma would have been to open this box from her favorite company. My entire thread collection is DMC, and it's what I use for all my patterns that I design. Thank you so much to DMC for this little treat. That little dot on your DMC color code? It’s not a typo. It matters 👀🧵 A dot before or after the number = a shade variation of the same color. 👉 This means the dye formula has changed therefore the color may not be an exact match. Why does it matter? A slight color change can show up in your stitching especially if you’re working on something large, a thread painting project, following a pattern, etc. Make sure your floss matches.💡Save this tip and save yourself a headache later. #embroidery #handembroidery #learntoembroider #embroiderytips #crafting

You don’t need a whole collection of DMC threads, you just need this thing! When it comes to choosing colours for your projects, imagine laying out all 500 skeins or bobbins you might have? I own such a collection as of recently and there is no way I would dig all the threads out at once to look through them all in order to secure my palette.
