4 important things to consider before buying a pair of docs: 1 - SIZE many people struggle with choosing the correct size in docs. myself included. even though i've owned countless pairs, it can still be tricky! generally, i would say when in doubt, size down. docs notoriously run big, and many people who are half sizes will mistakingly size up and get stuck with a pair that's too big. they usually don't make half sizes, so if you are a 7.5 for example, i would definitely go for a 7 rather than an 8. if you have more specific questions about sizing, feel free to comment below, dm me, or check out my size guide youtube video (found in my 'youtube' story highlight). 2 - PRICE-POINT if you're looking at buying a new pair of docs directly from the dr martens website, i would strongly recommend buying secondhand instead! personally, i sell my docs for cheaper than the dm's website (and you don't have to pay sales tax)! you can also look on other secondhand platforms like poshmark- just make sure the pair you're buying is authentic! but if you really want to buy them brand new, you can sign up for emails from dm's for a 10% off code, or college students can get a 15% off discount with unidays. but i definitely prefer buying secondhand- it's how i save money and can afford so many pairs! 3 - AUTHENTICITY definitely be sure to verify the authenticity of docs before buying them. one telltale sign of this is if the stitches are crooked. fake docs are very low quality and are made in sweatshops to be sold by places like aliexpress! 4 - BREAK-IN PROCESS before wearing your new docs, make sure you know how to break them in! leather shoes are going to take time to form to your feet, so you can't expect to instantly be able to walk miles in your new docs. first, you'll have to break them in to avoid getting blisters and hurting yourself. i have tutorials for this in my 'breaking in' story highlight! these tips are coming from my personal experience as somebody who has owned and resold TONS of docs. so i would definitely try to keep these things in mind to make sure you pick out an awesome pair of doc martens that you will love for years!

how i broke in my @drmartensusa and made them wearable: 1. moleskin on the inside of the heel 2. taking them to a cobbler to stretch the toe box I bought these in 2021 and only now after a trip to the cobbler's do i feel like i could actually wear these for a full day!!
