Can also be used for back acne. Leave on for 2-3 minutes and then wash off completely ❌✅ Tea tree oil: Dr Maxfield says Yes, I say No. the truth is that tea tree has been shown to be effective for acne. The problem is that it’s high risk of allergy and irritation due to the limonene concentration. This one you have to balance efficacy with safety and decide for yourself! ❌ Oxy wipes: Salicylic acid in these is great but the super high alcohol concentration and fragrance will be irritating for most. ✅ Differin gel: Adapalene is one of the best ingredients for acne. Apply a pea size at night. Myths From My Childhood🚸 ❌ Fried foods have not been linked to acne. Studies on diet and acne are limited but the main foods shown to contribute to acne are high sugar diets, skim milk, whey protein supplements, and B12 supplements. Chocolate is a maybe… ❌ Avoid neosporin. Turns out that more than 10% of people will develop an allergy to neosporin due the combination of neomycin and bacitracin. It’s best to just use regular Vaseline or aquaphor after cleaning the wound with soap and water! ❌ Avoid hydrogen peroxide for most injuries. Hydrogen peroxide can actually be helpful to remove crust from wounds that have formed a lot scab. But in most cases, it damages normal skin cells and delays wound healing.
