These things finally fixed my driving I see these same driver setup mistakes destroy confidence on the first tee every single day. Most golfers think their slice comes from a bad swing path, but your setup is killing your drives before you even start the backswing. That frustration you feel watching your ball sail into the trees? It starts with these four setup errors I’m demonstrating: 1. Ball Position 🏌️ Place it off your lead heel, not outside of lead foot. Your driver needs to catch the ball on the upswing - grab an alignment stick and check this every range session 2. Handle Position ⬆️ Stop having them hands behind the ball. The shaft should point at your lead armpit, not your trail side. 3. Spine Tilt 📐 Tilt your upper body away from the target. You should feel like your trail shoulder is lower than your lead shoulder at address 4. Forearm Alignment 💪 Both forearms need to match your shaft angle. Most slicers have their lead arm tilted back and trail arm higher than lead arm- lay an alignment stick across your forearms to check You don’t need a perfect swing to hit solid drives. Fix these setup fundamentals first, then we’ll tackle the swing.

These positions cover the entire motion from address (P1) through the backswing (P2-P4), downswing (P5-P6), impact (P7), and follow-through (P8-P9). Here are the nine key positions of the golf swing: P1: Address – The setup position, where the golfer is aligned to the ball, with weight evenly distributed. P2: Takeaway (Shaft Parallel) – The club moves back until it is parallel to the ground. P3: Mid-Backswing (Left Arm Parallel) – The lead arm is parallel to the ground, and the club hinges. P4: Top of Backswing – The highest point of the swing where the back is turned toward the target. P5: Early Downswing (Left Arm Parallel) – The start of the downswing where the lead arm is again parallel to the ground.
