BLOWOUT 101 ✨ Product application & proper shampooing matters more than you think. •Two shampoos ALWAYS (scrub where your bun or pony always sits plz) •Emulsify products in your hands (don’t slap them right on) • Apply product before brushing • Brush through thoroughly so every strand is coated • No crème on the scalp — mid-shaft + ends only When scatter drying (ignore my millennial malfunction in this video, it came out horrid), lift the hair OFF the scalp. Volume starts here. Not at the round brush. Sectioning is everything. Dry stays with dry. Wet stays with wet. Why would you let damp hair sit next to dry? You wouldn’t. (If you do this, you’re slowly letting moisture touch the hair you burned out your biceps for aka ruining the vibe). I create: • One mohawk section (cutie lil bun) • One large back section (split down the middle) • Each broken into 3 smaller subsections Every section gets elevated while drying. Ends stay my focus because mine are dry AF no matter what. Mohawk section - overdirect forward + down for ultimate lift. Cold shot each subsection. Then cool the entire head. Finish with a touch of Oasis Frizz Cream to smooth it out. Or whatever you like to finish. And that’s that 🤍 (And yes… I do you guys a smidge different because I get the luxury of not burning out my own arms.) Why should you prep your hair with dry shampoo at night?! Let me tell you👇🏼 Night time is when the most oil seeps from our scalp and this prep helps prevent the oils from saturating and setting in on our problem areas (nape of the neck, forehead, above the ears, and the part line), it also aids in overall volume and texture for styling the next day! The trick is a light hand and even placement, brushing in multiple directions to distribute it evenly, and really focusing on places you see the most oil in the am, without overdoing it. I’m using my favorite dry shampoo from @walmart here and you can find it linked in my bio! Once you’re prepped you can drift off into a peaceful slumber and let the dry shampoo do its thing!
