The Dutch Angle is an interesting in-camera technique The way I decide if it’s appropriate for my work is when the subject I’m photographing has a dominant angle or movement to it that goes against straight lines and horizons. Naturally, everything is upright or flat (cuz gravity). When I see the Dutch angle used without a subject or story breaking those lines, it just looks like a crooked photo. I only wait when something is moving fast, and I lean into that angle of movement. Or if there’s a story as to why this subject is not flat or upright. It’s difficult to use and when done tastefully (and not being spammed for the sake of being different), I think the Dutch Angle is quite nice for photos and movies. #tutorials #dutchangle #streetphotography #howto #chrischu
