Nestled within Eco Spring Lab where cafes are, Diggersite offers a construction themed playground for kids. They also provide a plethora of tools for kids to indulge in sand play after they are done with the machines. I was attracted to the thematic experience at first, but fall in love with it after speaking with the elder staff. The lady and i exchanged words on early childhood and the golden first 6 years of a child’s life; I also learnt about uncle’s previous profession in leading a team of 200 workers in a factory that makes him into such nurturing figure in guiding kids to be confident during their play onsite now.❤️ After the play, i called a GrabCar at 6-10ringgit to bring us opposite to Eco Palladium where Chagee hut is (I’m a Chagee milktea lover!). We didn’t entertain the thought of walking as sun was merciless🥵There are other dessert places around chagee hut too. my spontaneous one day trip to Johor Bahru, Malaysia 🇲🇾✨☁️ everything we did on our JB day trip from Singapore by public transport. ☀️ morning • Hiap Joo Bakery for banana cake (viral online, but honestly… not that special to me 🫣) • stroll along Jalan Tan Hiok Nee for thrift shops, local artworks, cute boutiques & plant stores. 🌤️ afternoon • Eco Spring Lab — colourful “European-style” houses (pretty but very quiet, many shops closed) • lunch at Woodfire - their brisket burger was JUICY, thiccc, smoky & so satisfying! • Eco Palladium shopping spree 🛍️ — multiple levels of affordable women’s clothing, cute designs, great quality. That’s how I seed my cells! 😉 Cell seeding is usually the first protocol step and a standard procedure in cell-based experiments. A correct and standardized cell seeding protocol is a critical factor for reproducible experimental results. The main challenge in this step is to achieve and maintain comparable cell numbers in all repeated experiments. It’s not about how quick you do it, but rather it’s about how consistent and vigilant you are to do it perfectly without having any contamination. I prefer to lift the lid of the culture plate and seed my cells directly. I work as a Lab Technician in spatial biology, so our experiments are focused on this field. As a team, we carry out spatial experiments and share expertise on spatial techniques, which are incredibly popular at the moment. My role involves learning lots of new techniques, optimising protocols, and trying out new methods. I couldn’t have imagined I would be learning so much! Since I started in July, I’ve learned to perform Visium, Visium HD, Curio, and Nova-ST workflows, all of which involve PCR, qPCR, and library preparation for next-generation sequencing. I’ve also learned and troubleshooted RNA extraction from paraffin-embedded sections, which was very different from what I was used to in my previous job (where I only worked with cell samples). Additionally, I’ve learned to use a Bioanalyzer for RNA quality assessment. At the moment, I’m learning a targeted transcriptomics technique called MERSCOPE.
