Follow @inside_science_ for daily wonders from the world of physics, history, and the science of survival! 🔥 What does photosynthesis look like in real time? In aquatic plants like Elodea and Cabomba, you can actually see photosynthesis happen. Under bright light, tiny oxygen bubbles form on their leaves and stems, rising gracefully to the surface. 🌱✨ ✅ Sunlight powers the plant’s energy conversion ✅ Water + CO₂ → Glucose + Oxygen ✅ Oxygen released as delicate streams of bubbles ✅ A rare chance to watch nature’s chemistry in action 🚀 Photosynthesis isn’t just the foundation of life on Earth — it’s also a beautiful reminder of how energy flows from sunlight into every ecosystem. 📍 Concept: Plant Biology & Energy Conversion 🔬 Tech: Photosynthesis, Aquatic Botany Credit: @weneedthis #Photosynthesis #PlantBiology #Oxygen #NatureScience #LifeOnEarth #inside_science_

In certain aquatic plants like Elodea and Cabomba, you can actually see photosynthesis in action. Place one of these plants in water under bright light, and something remarkable happens. Tiny oxygen bubbles begin to form on the leaves and stems, slowly rising to the surface in delicate streams. What you are watching is the plant converting sunlight into chemical energy, releasing oxygen as a natural byproduct. It is one of the rare moments where a biological process becomes visible, offering a quiet, beautiful glimpse into the power of photosynthesis.

Los ecosistemas son conjuntos formados por los seres vivos y el lugar donde habitan. En ellos, plantas, animales y el ambiente se relacionan entre sí para mantener el equilibrio de la naturaleza. #hechoconamor❤️ #maquetas #ecosistema

Biodiversity = the true wealth of our planet 🌍✨ Lose biodiversity → Lose balance → Lose life 🌱 Every species matters 🐾 One extinction can disturb the entire ecosystem 👉 Conservation is not an option, it’s a responsibility If we protect nature today, nature will protect us tomorrow 💚 ✔ Save forests ✔ Protect wildlife ✔ Reduce pollution Be the reason Earth survives 🌎✨ 👉 Follow for more NEET Biology content 👉 Share this with your study buddy #biodiversity #conservation #ecology #explorepage #neetbiology

🌍 ECOSYSTEM 🧠 DEFINITION An ecosystem is a self-sustaining structural and functional unit of nature in which biotic (living organisms) and abiotic (physical environment) components interact through energy flow and nutrient cycling. 👉 Term coined by A.G. Tansley (1935) 🌱 COMPONENTS OF ECOSYSTEM 🔹 1. Abiotic Components (Non-living) • Physical factors → Light, Temperature, Rainfall • Chemical factors → Water, Soil, Nutrients (C, N, P, etc.) 🔹 2. Biotic Components (Living) • Producers (Autotrophs) → Plants, algae (photosynthesis) • Consumers (Heterotrophs) → Herbivores, carnivores, omnivores • Decomposers (Saprotrophs) → Bacteria, fungi (nutrient recyclers) ⚙️ FUNCTIONS OF ECOSYSTEM 🌿 1. Productivity • Rate of biomass/organic matter production • Gross Primary Productivity (GPP) → total photosynthesis • Net Primary Productivity (NPP) = GPP – Respiration • Determines energy availability to higher trophic levels 🔄 2. Decomposition • Breakdown of dead organic matter • Steps → Fragmentation → Leaching → Catabolism → Humification → Mineralisation • Releases nutrients back to soil/water ⚡ 3. Energy Flow • Unidirectional → Sun → Producers → Consumers → Decomposers • Follows Lindeman’s 10% law (only ~10% energy transferred to next trophic level) • Explains pyramids of energy, biomass and numbers ♻️ 4. Nutrient (Biogeochemical) Cycling • Cyclic movement of nutrients between biotic & abiotic components • Types → Gaseous cycles (C, N) & Sedimentary cycles (P, S) • Maintains soil fertility & ecosystem stability 🔑 PROPERTIES OF ECOSYSTEM • Open System → continuous exchange of energy & matter • Dynamic & Temporal → changes over time (ecological succession) • Self-regulating (Homeostasis) → maintains equilibrium via feedback mechanisms • Trophic Organization → food chains, food webs, ecological pyramids • Interdependence → strong link between organisms & environment • Resilience → ability to recover after disturbance • Carrying Capacity → maximum population an ecosystem can support 🌍 TYPES OF ECOSYSTEM • Natural → Forest, Grass

Inside a simple jar, I created a sealed ecosystem using sand, rocks, and plants from a wastewater drain. Within hours the water cleared, revealing hundreds of tiny creatures forming a self-sustaining world. A reminder of how life adapts and thrives even in harsh environments. #ecosphere #ecosystem #microecosystem #natureexperiment #jarecosystem aquaticlife tinyworld naturalscience ecology biotope aquascaping
