There are people you meet that change you forever. @dr.editheger was one of them. Sitting across from her was one of the most humbling experiences of my life. She survived Auschwitz as a teenager and still found a way to forgive. Still found a way to heal. Still found a way to help others do the same. She told me that forgiveness isn’t about the other person. It’s about freeing yourself. I think about that all the time. The world has lost an irreplaceable soul, but her lessons will live on forever. Her story genuinely changed how I see forgiveness, trauma, and what it means to be truly free. As a psychologist and author of The Choice, she taught us that freedom is something you choose, no matter what you've endured. Dr. Eger passed away at 98. 📌 Edith Eger @dr.editheger nació el 29 de septiembre de 1927 en Kassa, Hungría, ahora Kosice en Eslovaquia. Durante su adolescencia ella y su familia judía tuvieron que abandonar su hogar rumbo a Auschwitz. Tras sobrevivir a esta experiencia, Eger huyó a Checoslovaquia y, en 1949 se instaló en Estados Unidos. Allí conoció a su mentor Viktor Frankl, que le hizo comprender la necesidad de superar sus traumas para alcanzar la felicidad. Estudió y se doctoró en Psicología en Texas, es profesora en la Universidad de California y gestiona su propia clínica en La Jolla.
