HEALTH TIP 😲 If you’ve ever wondered if your eggs are still good, this is a great test to use (Save this for later) 🥚 if the egg FLOATS: very old 🥚 if the egg SINKS BUT STAYS UPRIGHT: getting old, eat soon 🥚 if the egg SINKS: very fresh ✅ 💡 The science behind it: eggs have an “air cell” that enlarges as it ages, causing it to become more buoyant and float. This can help determine how fresh or old your eggs are. #healthtip #foodhacks #eggs #freshness #nutritiontips #healthyfamily

Here’s how it works: How to Perform the Test: ✨Fill a bowl or glass with cold water. ✨Gently place the egg into the water. ✨Observe what happens: -sinks and lays flat - very fresh - sinks but stands upright - a bit older but safe to eat - floats - old do not eat. #LifeHacks #DidYouKnow #fyp #TipsAndTricks #explorepage

BONUS POINT: you can crack the eggs one by one into a bowl before mixing together to ensure you don't suffer the one bad egg situation that will spoil the whole batch 😑 Tell us in the comment if you’ve tried this before👇 🤗 #agaswholesome #eggtest #freshegg #kitchentip #foodhack #cookingtip #egghack

The ‘Egg Float Test’ is one of the most popular methods for checking whether an egg is good or bad, if it is passed the expiration date. This happens to me from time to time, and it’s a great way to test the eggs especially if you’re in the middle of making a recipe 🙈🙃 Here is how to perform this floating egg test. Gently place your egg into a bowl of water. If the egg sinks, it is fresh. If it tilts upwards or even floats, it is old. This happens because as eggs age, the small air pockets inside it grow larger as water is released and replaced by air. If the air pocket becomes large enough, the egg may float. **Please keep in mind that by cracking an egg open, sniffing it, and checking for discoloration is a really precise method of determining freshness. Even if an egg passes these tests, it’s important to fully cook it to a safe temperature before you eat it. . . . #eggtest #eggs #slovenskakuhinja #sloveniankitchen #slovenska_kuhinja

Last person to “risk it”, but also cannot stand wastefulness - which is why I love this test😂🤪 Also helpful for anyone getting over their fear of buying farmers market eggs that have no expiration date… anyone else or was that just me?😅 SAVE so you don’t forget #eggs #reducefoodwaste #expirationdate #healthyeatingtips #standaretopost

How to tell if an egg is still fresh and safe to be eaten? 🤔With the egg test, naturally! 🙌😍 How does it work? 👇 All you have to do is sinking an egg into a glass filled with water: ❌if it floats, that means that it’s no more fresh and safe to eat; ⏰if it sinks to the bottom but stays upright, it’s still fresh but consume it as soon as possible; ✅if it sinks, it’s fresh. From now on, if you want to check if your eggs are fresh, do the egg test 😉Have you ever tried it? 😎👇 #cookistwow #eggtest #freshness #learnwithcookistwow

Egg Float Test 🥚 If you’re like me you keep your farm fresh eggs on your counter before putting in the fridge or eating them. Sometimes I forget exactly how they are so I run the float test! It’s quite easy and has ALWAYS been accurate for me. You can also do this with store bought eggs or other birds eggs (ducks, quail etc). All you have to do is remember two things: 1️⃣ If it rapidly sinks to the bottom it’s still fresh-keep it! 2️⃣ If it floats, it’s filled with air and can no longer be consume- discard it! I sometimes get eggs that tilt upwards (starting to fill with air) so I either hard boil those or feed them back to my chickens. Those just need to be consumed soon since they are starting to go bad. Have you tried this trick yet? It’s been very helpful for me! 🥚 Can an egg FLOAT in water? Try this easy science experiment with your kids! This is one of our favorite 5-minute homeschool science activities and it teaches kids about density in a super visual way. Kids love watching the egg magically rise to the top! Supplies • 2 clear glasses • Water • Salt • 2 eggs • Spoon ✨ I linked all the supplies we used in my Amazon storefront under Homeschool Science Experiments. ⸻ Instructions 1️⃣ Fill both glasses with water. 2️⃣ Add 4–6 tablespoons of salt to one glass and stir well. 3️⃣ Leave the other glass with plain water. 4️⃣ Carefully place one egg in each glass. 👀 Watch what happens! The egg sinks in regular water but floats in salt water. Science Lesson Salt changes the density of the water, making it easier for the egg to float. This is the same reason people float easily in the Dead Sea! Save this for your next homeschool science day and check my Amazon storefront for our favorite homeschool supplies. #homeschoolscience #scienceforkids #stemforkids #momcontent #learningthroughplay
